So I have recently fallen in love with the name [name_f]Spring[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it could work as a fn or should it remain a guilty pleasure? Thanks ladies:)
As a fn, I don’t think so. It would make a good mn though.
Might I suggest Vesna, it’s a Slavic name that coincides with the Russian word for spring. I think it goes well with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] in your signature too.
I love [name_f]Spring[/name_f] - but I agree, it’s probably better left for a middle name (a lovely middle name, at that).
Agreed! I think [name_f]Spring[/name_f] is so interesting and I love the visual connotations, but I can’t imagine someone being named [name_f]Spring[/name_f]. I think something like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Spring[/name_f] would be lovely, but I’m not sure that fits too well with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. Maybe something like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Spring[/name_f] or [name_f]Elisabet[/name_f] [name_f]Spring[/name_f] or [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Spring[/name_f]?
Good luck!
I agree, [name_f]Spring[/name_f] would be a beautiful middle name, but I don’t think it is usable as a first name. I also love the suggestion of Vesna.
I knew a girl named [name_f]Spring[/name_f] in high school, so it doesn’t seem at all strange to me. In fact, I’ve never met a [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], or [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]IRL[/name_m], just a [name_f]Spring[/name_f]. It suited her well. I’m not sure if it really goes with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] as a sibset, but just as a random name, I don’t think it’s that much of a guilty pleasure.
I love the name [name_f]Spring[/name_f]!!! And I definitely think it’s usable as a first name!
I love your daughter’s names btw.
I have to agree that [name_f]Spring[/name_f] is more middle name material.
I love [name_f]Spring[/name_f], could definitely see it as a first name, but not next to [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. I would hesitate to use anything but a Nordic name following those two. I love the suggestion of [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] though, it means new day and is very spring-like in my opinion.
I would also like to suggest Idunn/[name_f]Idun[/name_f] or [name_f]Idony[/name_f], it is the name of the goddess of spring in Norse mythology and one of my favourites! Idunn/[name_f]Idun[/name_f] is pronounced like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] with a -u-.
I don’t like it as a first name personally, but it makes a great middle! I know an [name_f]Emelie[/name_f] [name_f]Spring[/name_f]
Definitely a middle name. I don’t find [name_f]Spring[/name_f] all that attractive as a name, but I think in the middle name spot it can be quite charming.
I like [name_f]Spring[/name_f] but only as a middle name.
I think it could work as a middle
Thanks for all of the feedback everyone!
GP, in my opinion. However, Primavera (Spanish for “spring”) is fresh and lovely. I also love the suggestion of Vesna.
It is a beautiful first name, and I do know a woman named [name_f]Spring[/name_f]. My son is named [name_m]Springer[/name_m]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] FYI, there are other -ing names out there, such as [name_m]Bing[/name_m], [name_m]Ving[/name_m], [name_m]Mingus[/name_m], [name_m]Fielding[/name_m], [name_u]Channing[/name_u], and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], so that’s not unusual or anything.
