Juat because im asking doesn’t mean I’m definitely going to call her this. But, I do think it’s pretty. I wanted to know exactly what people think and if they think it’s a “bad name”? Though, I personally see no name as bad. It may not be you’re taste but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, lol.

I dont think it’s a bad name, definitely not my taste at all. You’re going to call the child [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] any how why not use that as their full name. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is going to age a whole heck of a lot better, and just has a more timeless feel too it. [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] looks incomplete and just makes you like you were trying to hard to be creative and southern all at on. What would be wrong with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] Last name ?
I do not think it’s a “bad name”, I just personally feel neutral about it. I adore [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful and very fitting for many personality types. [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] is sweet and spunky.
Nothing would be wrong, I guess. But I don’t see Gracelyn as a trying to hard name at all. To me it’s just pretty but if you think so and other people do to then back to drawing board lol. I like gracie better than Grace so maybe
Here’s the thing I bet you wouldnt care for my kids names. Please dont let me or anyone else turn you away from a name you might love. Beauty is its your kid. Cant please everyone. As long as you and your partner are happy that’s all that matter. That’s for any name not just [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]
Thanks [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m]. you seem like a nice person (not that anyone here isn’t nice of course). I think last time i let my family and my friends impact my decision way to much. I ended picking a name so simple that I liked but didn’t really love because I figured that no one could argue with it, but turns out, most people hated it anyway!
It’s very frusterating lol, I wish I just went with a name I really, really loved and didn’t tell anyone what it was. I don’t want the same thing that happened with my first child to happen with this one too, and ._. sad life lol
I’m not saying that Gracelyn is the perfect name I’m just complaining a bit because I feel like I can’t complain anywhere else 
Personally I prefer [name_f]Grace[/name_f] with [name_u]Lynn/name_u as a mn, then that could be a nickname. But it’s your choice, and I think it sounds really pretty.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f], but I do think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is quite lovely.
Not a fan at all. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] by itself is far more pretty, and there wouldn’t be issues with people spelling it wrong.
Honestly, I like [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]-lynn (not sure what the spelling would be???) more. I like the three syllable flow more than the two. It feels very Southern to me regardless. Use a name you love!
I agree with @wilkie8709 and because we all have different loves and dislikes in names, choose what YOU love. I shall say that I would really think about, and ask more questions, if it were a made-up name or spelling, but [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is a legitimate name. As you stated, this may not be the name you choose but please have confidence in choosing what you love. I think it is better to discuss names on NB with all the name nerds, haha, than with family and friends who sometimes make comments based on their likes and dislikes, that shake our confidence in our decisions.
It’s not my taste but I don’t think it’s a “bad” name. I think it might seem a bit dated in the future and I can’t help but to hear it in my head as Graceland. At the end of the day, it should be about what name is special to you. Everyone is drawn to different styles of names and you can’t please all your friends and family.
My name is [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and I do really like my name, however, would have also loved (maybe even more so) being called [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]. So I really like both names. I think though [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is considered more “trendy” (I don’t really think it is), it still holds the classic vibe of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] :). So either is beautiful and I guess for me it would just depend on the middle name you want to use!!
