Grade me! looking for feedback/opinions on my chlldren's names

[name]Hi[/name] all,
What a lovely site this is!
I’ve been readin freakonomics, and found the chapter on baby names a little frek-out-onomic!
All the discussion about ‘low income" names and more "elite’ names, black names, white names was very thought provoking, and I wondered how people feel about the names I’ve chosen for my children.
They are all family names, but we have a big family, so I could’ve made other choices! But I did think I’d get more honest opinions from strangers-people who are not afraid of offending me- I won’t be offended, the eldest is 11, these names are [name]SET[/name]!
Be Honest please.
Surname is [name]Pierce[/name].

Eldest Girl- [name]Sinead[/name] [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Agnes[/name] ([name]Sinead[/name] was my favourite aunt’s name as a child, and her middle names are my husbands and my own mother’s names)
Middle Girl- [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]. ([name]Mave[/name] being the only non-family name, and [name]Ellen[/name] being mine!)
Youngest (son) [name]Henry[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Gerard[/name]. We call him [name]Harry[/name] though. There’s been a harry in the last 3 generations on my mother’s side, and again, both grandfathers as his middle names.

What do you think?

We live in Australia, so the girl’s names are VERY unusual. People sem to love the name [name]Maeve[/name] when they hear it though, I think it’ll get more popular. She’s 7 though, so she’ll miss the [name]Maeve[/name] surge!

Thanks for your input!

I think theyre beautiful names and they all are connected through their Irish/British heritage! I personally love [name]Maeve[/name], and I think [name]Sinead[/name] is a beautiful choice, especially since its sounds much prettier than its spelled. And I think its great your kids have rarer names since youre in Australia, makes them more unique!

Hmmmm…without knowing anything about you or your kids, I probably would have assumed you’re Irish. And since I would assume you’re Irish, I would probably assume you’re white. They don’t strike me as low-class names or high class names.

I think its a very nice sib-set.

Gorgeous names! I think they are great and that you do not need to worry at all.

[name]Sinead[/name] [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Agnes[/name] , [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Gerard[/name] ([name]Harry[/name]) -

Let’s see. I would presume you were Irish/British, at least by heritage. [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Agnes[/name] for some reason reads Catholic to me (probably all those [name]Mary[/name]-something nuns in the hospital when I was young.) Oh yes, and I would wonder how you felt about [name]Sinead[/name] O’[name]Connor[/name] (but I am an American and don’t see the name often.)

That said, the names are meaningful to you and beautiful no matter what. I like them!

I love your name choices! Beautiful! I also have a [name]Maeve[/name] (8) and I’m hoping the popularity surge never comes.

I love [name]Henry[/name]!

[name]Maeve[/name] is okay. I’ve never met one, so it’s very unfamiliar to me. I personally find it a bit…mouthy…like mauve or bloom–no clipping all sorta mushy—but that does make it feel very soft and feminine.

Similarly, I’ve never met a [name]Sinead[/name] and the only one I’ve ever heard of is the singer. So my only connection is that it’s a bit “hollywood”, kinda like [name]Bono[/name] or [name]Cher[/name]. It’s not unpleasant at all.

Of the 3, the only one I’d consider more on the low-brow side is [name]Sinead[/name], but that’s just because the only connection I have with it is a celebrity.

I think your reasons for choosing them are all fantastic, and I love that they are all so meaningful to you. That’s really the most important thing with naming.

I think they are lovely names! I like that they are a bit unique where you live, they’re meaningful to you and your family, and they go together very well. =]

I’m mom to both a [name]Henry[/name] and a [name]Maeve[/name] (3.5 and 14 weeks, respectively), so clearly I’m a big fan of your name choices!
