Grant or Graham?

Yes, berries, I’m still at it! The right name just hash’t hit me yet. These have been on our list since the beginning but I never could decide between them. Our last name sounds a lot like [name_m]Brenner[/name_m].

Or do you prefer another name from our short list for brother [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]:
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]

This one’s tough I adore

[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m]

With [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] I think [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], and [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] would be best in a sibset

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]

Would all be super handsome names!

I love [name_m]Graham[/name_m], and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] is handsome as well.

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] would work nicely too.

I would not choose [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] to go with [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] as they both end in an S sound.

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] #1 choice
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] #2 choice
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] #3

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is so nice
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is just as usable

I see the name [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] belonging to a handsome, friendly and down-to-earth man so these names epitomize those qualities for me:

1 [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
2 [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
3 [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
4 [name_m]Graham[/name_m]

[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] have the rugged masculinity of a [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] but don’t have as much warmth. I am the first to admit that my observations are completely subjective but so is everyone else’s.

Thanks [name_u]Mischa[/name_u], your comments are always excellent. That is exactly how I feel about [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]…I want to love it so much but it definitely lacks the warmth of [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and some of our other choices. [name_f]My[/name_f] issue is, I feel like [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Graham[/name_m] are a little boring and my husband is still not on board with my favorites: [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. Any ideas how to convince a dad they are great names??

Definetly [name_m]Grant[/name_m],

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] is always mispronounced

Thanks again for the replies! I have wondered about the potential for [name_m]Graham[/name_m] being mispronounced since it has two different possible pronunciations from what I understand ([name_m]Gram[/name_m] or [name_u]Gray[/name_u]-um). I would appreciate any other opinions out there on the two names because they still seem so similar to me. I wonder if they are often mistaken for each other?

Must admit to being totally biased, but I vote for [name_m]Graham[/name_m] (pronounced [name_u]Grey[/name_u]-um). I have one who’s 2 and he gets called [name_u]Grey[/name_u] at least half the time.

I feel like it’s a good name that goes easily from boy to man. I was also concerned about pronunciation, knowing that where I live, some would say [name_m]Gram[/name_m], which I could not have since that is what I call one of my grandmothers. :stuck_out_tongue: I generally correct someone once, then if they still say [name_m]Gram[/name_m], I just tell them he goes by [name_u]Grey[/name_u].

I’ve only ever known one other [name_m]Graham[/name_m], a friend of my dad’s who is now in his 70’s, who also happens to have been knighted at one point, which upped the awesome factor of this name in my mind as a child, so I also jokingly call my little guy “Sir [name_m]Graham[/name_m]” sometimes.
