Due with baby girl #3 in less than 2 weeks. Older sisters are [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m] (I know, not everyone’s style, but apparently it’s ours).
Right now, I think our front-runner (or the only one we can agree on) is Graylen. What do you think about Graylen potential nn [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] on a girl? Is it too close to the rapidly rising in popularity [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]/[name_m]Greyson[/name_m]? Our last name starts with a C, is 2-syllables, and ends in an “ee” sound.
Some other names that have been on one baby list or another in the past are:
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]
[name_u]Ridley[/name_u]
[name_m]Westyn[/name_m]
[name_m]Cullen[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] (is this too close to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]?) nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u]
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
[name_u]Parker[/name_u]
Eisley
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Russell[/name_m] nn Ru/[name_u]Rue[/name_u]
Any awesome ideas that seem to flow with our other girls’ names? DH is no help at all when it comes to suggestions, just wants veto power.
I love Graylen nn [name_u]Gray[/name_u] or [name_m]Lenny[/name_m]. It fits perfectly with big sisters. Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]
I’ve seen lately Grayland for a name. I like it with your girls’ names. I think it fits nicely. Ridley is super cute as well but has the “ee” ending like your last name.
I’m sorry, but I kind of hate Graylen. I don’t think if fits with your other daughters’ names at all. [name_m]Foster[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least they’re real names. Graylen seems made up and kind of ugly to me.
Some of your other choices are nice. My favorite is [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]. It’s not my style, but I think fits nicely with your other kids.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_u]Everly[/name_u]? It’s kind of a mix of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. Or what about just [name_u]Grey[/name_u]? Or [name_u]Lionel[/name_u], nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f]/y?
I have a strict aversion to Graylen. Not attractive in the least. From your list I think [name_u]Ridley[/name_u], [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] (<3), Parker, and Sawyer would be marvelous with sisters Elliot and Foster. From my own suggestions, Hadley, Sage, Quinn, Phoenix, August, Tatum, Scout, and Avalon came to mind. Just curious, what are Elliot’s and Fosters middle names? I’d love to hear what you paired with them.
I like Graylen, but I like [name_u]Parker[/name_u] with [name_m]Park[/name_m] for the nn or even Parklin. [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] is also pretty but tomboyish in my opinion.
One of my favorite boyish names is Emberley/[name_f]Emberly[/name_f]. It is the last name of a children’s book illustrator and I think it’s adorable with lots of nn options. But now that I think of, [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is also awesome with your other daughters’ names.
While I really like Graylen, [name_f]IMO[/name_f], it doesn’t go with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m]. I love boy names on girls, spelling changes, and made up names, so my opinion has nothing to do with hating Graylen for either reason. Compaired to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m], Graylen stands out as looking made up. Out of your list, i think [name_u]Ridley[/name_u], [name_m]Westyn[/name_m] (although i’d spell it ‘ton’ because it stands out since [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m] are spelled the most common way), [name_m]Cullen[/name_m], and [name_u]Sutton[/name_u].
As for your other names, I wouldn’t use [name_u]Parker[/name_u] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] because [name_m]Foster[/name_m] already ends in ‘er’, [name_u]Fallon[/name_u], Eisley, and [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] stand out as girly next to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are too close, and I think the only thing I have against [name_m]Russell[/name_m] is that I don’t get where [name_u]Rue[/name_u] comes from.
Suggestions:
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m] (fits more with the other 2 [name_f]IMO[/name_f])
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m]
[name_u]Devon[/name_u]
[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
Graylen isn’t my cup of tea, I prefer [name_u]Waverly[/name_u].
I’m just commenting because I absolutely [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] and much prefer it with [name_m]Foster[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
Graylen looks and sounds really bad, sorry. What about just [name_u]Grey[/name_u]? [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Foster[/name_m], and [name_u]Grey[/name_u]? I also like pp’s suggestion of [name_u]Larkin[/name_u].
Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment, and for your additional suggestions!
Naming this little girl is stressing me out and since we don’t like to ask family and friends for opinions or ideas I appreciate the honesty!
For the person who asked, (I’m on my phone and new at posting) both [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m] have a family name for their middle name - [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u] (my grandmas first name) and [name_m]Foster[/name_m] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (DH’s grandmas first name).
I agree with others that Graylen stands out as made up next to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m]. You like traditionally male or surname-type names for girls and there are plenty to choose from. With [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Foster[/name_m], I like:
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m] [name_u]Ridley[/name_u]
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u]
[name_m]Preston[/name_m]
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]
