The father of the baby has the middle name [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. I’ve been thinking about it lately, but ever since I found out that it’s a girl, I’m not sure if it would sound right being used on a girl. I like both [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] and [name_u]Gray[/name_u] for a middle name. What are your opinions on the names?
I find it a bit too masculine for a girl, sorry
Def not [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. I think because it has “son” as the ending it sounds v masculine. [name_u]Gray[/name_u] is still boyish but maybe paired with a feminine first name would sound unusual and tomboyish rather than manly. Or you could shorten further and use [name_u]Ray[/name_u] or [name_u]Rae[/name_u].
I love unisex/(slightly) masculine names for girls, and I like the name [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. However, I agree that it is a little too masculine, but [name_u]Gray[/name_u] works and also maybe consider Grayden or Grayton? They’re both in the same category and a little less masculine
I don’t love [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] on a girl – but I’ve definitely heard it. It’s not the worst of the bunch. I like [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a middle… [ex. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]]
I think [name_u]Gray[/name_u] would work for a girl’s middle name, especially, as a pp said, with a feminine first name. For example, I think these make good combos: [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] doesn’t work for a girl.
I agree with this. You could also use [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_u]Rae[/name_u] as a more feminine honour name for [name_m]Grayson[/name_m].
I really dislike [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as a name, it just doesn’t give off pleasant imagery for me. [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] is one of my favourites for a boy, and while I think it works for a girl well enough, I would use [name_f]Gracen[/name_f]/Graycen on a girl.
Also, you may like [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]?
I think [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] is fine for a girl, but I do like the suggestion of [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] and you may also consider just [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I personally love [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a middle name, I don’t think it has bad connotations, I think of mist, rain (which I love), a moon shining on a placid lake…theres something mystical about it to me.
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m], no, it’s definitely a boy name. Sorry:/ If you’re set on nn [name_u]Gray[/name_u], what about [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] nn ‘[name_u]Gray[/name_u]’?
I like [name_u]Gray[/name_u] or [name_u]Grey[/name_u] fine as a middle for a girl. But I agree with other posters about possibly doing either [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_u]Ray[/name_u], or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] instead. Definitely not [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], though.
Maybe [name_f]Gracen[/name_f] (one of my faves) nn [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]?
I adore [name_u]Gray[/name_u] on a girl. Iam not a fan of [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] though.
[name_u]Gray[/name_u] is quite nice as a middle name, or even better, as a second middle name. [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] seems way too masculine.
I love the name [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. Not sure about [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], but I think if it was paired with the right name it could be adorable! There’s also [name_f]Gracen[/name_f] if you’re looking for something more feminine – it reminds me of [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but it is pronounced the same as [name_m]Grayson[/name_m].
Thank you guys for the suggestions and feedback! I really like the names [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Gracen[/name_f]. I think that [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is definitely up there in my top favorite names now
