Grayson vs. Crosby

I’m due with my second baby boy next month. My first son’s name is [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]James[/name]. My husband and I have narrowed our names for baby #2 to either [name]Crosby[/name] [name]Lee[/name] or [name]Grayson[/name] [name]Lee[/name] ([name]Lee[/name] is my father’s middle name). Which do you prefer?

We love the nickname [name]Gray[/name] and would likely call him this more so than [name]Grayson[/name]. My fear with [name]Grayson[/name] is that it is becoming too trendy.

However, with [name]Crosby[/name], I wonder if it is too out there or too unique?

We want the name to be unique enough, like [name]Sullivan[/name], yet still fairly classic. Thoughts???

Definitely [name]Grayson[/name]. Goes much better with [name]Sullivan[/name] too.

[name]Grayson[/name] hands down!

I like [name]Grayson[/name] Spelled like [name]Greyson[/name], and [name]Crosby[/name] sounds… off.

[name]Grayson[/name] for sure!

[name]Crosby[/name], definitely.

But I’m from Pittsburgh so that might explain my liking for it.

[name]Gray[/name] is awesome as well.

I love [name]Crosby[/name]

I like [name]Crosby[/name].

[name]Grayson[/name] is too dull.

[name]Crosby[/name], I’d call him [name]Cross[/name] or [name]Bing[/name]

[name]Grayson[/name] is too trendy for me. I like just [name]Grey[/name] but it wouldn’t go with the mn. Maybe Graer/Greyer or Grayton

I prefer [name]Crosby[/name]. It’s not really out there; since most people will know it as a surname, spelling, etc. would be a non-issue.

To me, [name]Grayson[/name] sounds very trendy, though I certainly get its appeal. I’m also not keen on the fact that it shares a -n ending with [name]Sullivan[/name].

Although I like [name]Grey[/name], I really don’t like [name]Greyson[/name] and don’t like both names ending with an N (not a huge deal but if it can be avoided, I think it should be). I do however really like [name]Crosby[/name] and if my last name didn’t start with a B it would definitely be on my list. I think [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Crosby[/name] would make a great sibset!

I prefer [name]Crosby[/name]. I like [name]Grey[/name], but don’t really care for [name]Greyson[/name] / [name]Grayson[/name]. I also think [name]Sullivan[/name] is fairly unique, and [name]Grayson[/name] seems “dull” compared to [name]Sullivan[/name] (which I love, btw!).

I think [name]Grayson[/name] is [name]WAY[/name] too trendy, I’d go with [name]Crosby[/name]. Or just [name]Grey[/name] (the ‘e’ version just seems more masculine to me). Another name that seems to fit your style is [name]August[/name] and all its variations.

I prefer [name]Crosby[/name], [name]Grayson[/name] is a more boring.

I agree with viviana: [name]Grayson[/name] is nice; I like the nn [name]Gray[/name] but it’s all kind of boring. [name]Crosby[/name] is so awesome and unusual but recognizable -I love it.

I’d go for [name]Crosby[/name].

I don’t like any of the -son endings, at all, for either gender. Not sure why.

Thanks for all of the input! This definitely helps since we’re keeping it a secret from family and friends.

I think right now we’re leaning towards [name]Crosby[/name] or [name]Grey[/name]. You all confirmed my fears about [name]Grayson[/name] being too trendy!
