Grayson

Has anyone else seen names online or in a book and decided if they like them or not, then changed their mind when heard in real life? When everyone on Nameberry started talking about [name]Grayson[/name] I hated the name. I think I actually gave people a lot of negative feedback. About two days ago, I was introduced to a man named [name]Grayson[/name]. I immediately loved the name. I thought it had a great sound and talked about the name for two days. It hit me later when I saw it on paper that this was the same name I had disliked before. It seemed so different hearing it on a grown man and knowing it wasn’t just a made-up 2000’s name. I think it is my new all-time favorite boy’s name. What does everyone else think? Has anyone had this experience?

I had this experience with the name [name]Rebecca[/name]. I really kind of hated it but then I met a little girl who was in foster care and started attending my daycare. She latched onto me, basically acts like I’m her momma and cries when she has to go home. I love [name]Rebecca[/name] now, and I love it a lot.

As for [name]Grayson[/name], I really like it. I thought about it for a while. I prefer the [name]Greyson[/name] spelling, but overall, it’s a handsome name.

I love the [name]Rebecca[/name] story…that’s so sweet!

I didn’t like [name]Grayson[/name] when I first heard it. Not one bit, actually. But then I let a friend use it to name a character in the novel I was writing at the time and I’m obsessed with it now. [name]How[/name] funny!

I love [name]Grayson[/name]! It’s on my short list, I think it’s adorable. Besides, it honors my grandma, which is one of the best perks for it that I can think of. It’s quite trendy but I just can’t let it go.

I’m not sure it’s happened to me that drastically… I don’t really like [name]Rose[/name], and I used to strongly dislike [name]Anneliese[/name], but then I met this adorable, prim-and-proper, sweet [name]Anneliese[/name] and I was just struck by how sweet it was. Of course, I hadn’t hated it when I saw it on her–I had actually grown to love it, had it on my short list, then fell out of love with it, and then I met her, and she rekindled my love for it. And I met the cutest, happiest little baby last summer named [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], so now I really like that combo. I probably wouldn’t use [name]Rose[/name] otherwise, though.

I actually know a girl named AnnaRose. No hyphens, no spaces. Normally I don’t know if I would like a name like this but I think it really works. I’ve never heard anyone call her just [name]Anna[/name]. It’s short enough to be able to say the whole thing.

I was like this with the name [name]Rose[/name] as well. Then a met the most adorable little almost-2-year-old with long brown hair and beautifully light blue eyes, and now I love the name. It’s funny that [name]Rose[/name] is going from everyone’s hate list to love list.
