[name]Lavinia[/name]

[name]Henry[/name]

Many of the names listed above are wonderful, so I didn’t want to re-list them! I’ve been thinking more and more of naming my next baby a vintage-y name, and wanted to see what names are floating around out there!

Ooo…forgot [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]!

I agree with you, jj: [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Annabel[/name] and also hoping it doesn’t get too popular. In fact, I’ve long loved vintage names and have been sad to see most of them (including many of those I’ll list below) climbing the charts. Sigh. Well, I guess a lot of us have good taste  .

I love vintage names.

Some of my favorites are:
Girls
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]Esmerelda[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]
Glorvina
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Laetitia[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Thomasina[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]

Boys
[name]Cornelius[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]George[/name]
[name]Horatio[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Phinneas[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
[name]Winston[/name]

Lots of vintage names have “caught on” in popularity now, and do not seem so old any more, or have a fresh sound.

Some names however still sound very vintage and are not overused.

[name]MAUD[/name] is one of these names. It has a great pedigree and history, and while it is one of those names I used to chuckle about as a child and think “how dreadful to be called [name]Maud[/name]”, I now love it.

[name]THORA[/name] is another one.

And [name]WINIFRED[/name].

Anyone like these?

I do like the name [name]Thora[/name]. [name]Maud[/name] and [name]Winnifred[/name], not so much  .

I just love [name]Maude[/name]! I would definitely use it, though probably as a mn. I wouldn’t get too excited about [name]Thora[/name]. It is okay. [name]Winifred[/name]- I get put off by the ‘fred’ part at the end, although [name]Winnie[/name] is sweet.

I would use [name]Maud[/name] or [name]Maude[/name] as a middle name.
