Hey everyone, I am writing a story about greek mythology kind of (think [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]) and I need some cute greek names for it! the main character’s name is [name_f]Farrah[/name_f], which my friend suggested and she was pretty sure it was Greek, but I need a couple other names for both genders! I know this is very broad but I was just hoping you guys could help me out! Thanks for taking time to read this, lol.
for girls…[name_f]Eurydice[/name_f] or Euphrosyne (nicknamed [name_u]Issy[/name_u] or [name_f]Rosy[/name_f]?)
IDK for boys.
I like them, but how would you pronounce them?
Euphrosyne=yoo-FROHS-in-ee
[name_f]Eurydice[/name_f]=yer-ID-iss-ee.
I think…I’m not quite sure.
I like [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] nn [name_u]Andy[/name_u] or [name_f]Ann[/name_f], and [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] nn Phae (sounds just like [name_f]Fay[/name_f]). For boys I like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] nn [name_m]Paul[/name_m].

[name_f]Farrah[/name_f] is great, but it is Arabic, not Greek- I don’t know if that bothers you.

[name_f]Aletheia[/name_f] means truth in Ancient Greek. The proper pronunciation is [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-thee-ah. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] would be a cute nickname. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] means goddess of light.
This friend of yours sounds super cool…
This might be a no-brainer to you, but the name [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] has Greek roots meaning life; plus, it’s perfectly modern. If you are thinking mythology, the best for girls would be (as suggested) [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] (the princess [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] saved), Briseis (something to do with the Trojan War, I think, [name_f]Juno[/name_f] ([name_f]Hera[/name_f]‘s [name_m]Roman[/name_m] form), [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] (though there is nothing good about her story…), Elpis (the spirit of [name_f]Hope[/name_f] left in the Box after [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] opened it), [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ([name_m]Odysseus[/name_m]’s wife who had to fend of suitors while he was away fighting), Clytemnestra (VERY clunky), and Ilithiya. Also there is [name_f]Danae[/name_f], [name_m]Perseus[/name_m]’ mother who was impregnated by [name_m]Zeus[/name_m] as some kind of sparkling cloud (if that’s not creepy, I don’t know what is), [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] “night”, [name_f]Cloris[/name_f], a flower nymph, and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], another nymph.
For boys, hmm…[name_m]Achilles[/name_m], [name_m]Ajax[/name_m], [name_m]Odysseus[/name_m], [name_m]Theseus[/name_m], all the good heroes. My knowledge is lacking in this gender; hope somebody else can do better. Oh! [name_m]Cadmus[/name_m]. That’s one - sure it’s already been mentioned, though.
