What are your thoughts on the name [name_f]Greer[/name_f]?
I really like it! It’s tailored and chic with unexpected sounds. That said, I think it’s quite polarizing in both internet circles and in real life. People seem to either love it or hate it in my experience!
i love it! it’s punchy and southern, with a vintage sweetness
I don’t really get it, unfortunately! The sound is just unattractive to my ears It mostly reminds me of grease and gears.
Like it in theory - tailored and confident - but couldn’t pull trigger and use it myself - brain thinks of “angrier”, “Sangria” etc, and it’s a bit too in the mouth. I prefer [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], for another strong Gr name.
I knew someone with it as a last name growing up
I can’t bring myself to like it as a first name, unfortunately – as @tallemaja said, it sounds rather like grease and gears But I can see it as a middle name – [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Marian[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f], etc
I grew up with a girl named [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. Personally its not my style (as has been mentioned the sound is a little harsh for me) however she wore it well and it made for an attractive distinguished multicultural name.
I find it hard to say, like the word rural.
I go back and forth. I like it for the distinctive sound, the cool, preppy vibe and familiar-but-unique feeling. I’m not sure I’m 100% sold on the sound though - there’s something of grieve, grim, greed, gripe, grease, smear and leer about it - still, it has grown on me a lot and I would like to meet a [name_f]Greer[/name_f] irl.
I don’t really like it as a first name. Reminds me of green, sneer, and leer. However, everyone has their own opinions, and I can see a little girl wearing it. It’s just not my style. Works as a middle name sometimes too.
I’ve never met a [name_f]Greer[/name_f], but I quite like it. It’s absolutely not my style and I’d never use it, but I’d enjoy meeting someone with the name. It sounds smart, polished and successful.
I absolutely love [name_f]Greer[/name_f]! Such a punchy, exciting, darling name.
I see it as an acceptable surname-turned-first-name to give a girl, though it isn’t my favorite in that category
I really don’t like the sound.
One of my favorites! It can be elegant, sophisticated, rugged, witty, and charming depending on the person and/or the combo! [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] has been on my list for a long time
It’s not the softest sounding name, but it’s not without its charms. Still, out of all the names out there, I could find dozens I prefer.
I don’t really get what people see in it to be completely honest! [name_f]Greer[/name_f] has a strange sound (in my accent at least) and sounds a lot like rear or gear in my opinion! like @annakate33 i can see it more as a middle but even then i don’t find it very pretty or appealing.
I sometimes wish it was my name.
