[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] sounds better with the siblings, but I prefer the name [name_f]Greta[/name_f] over [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. It sounds a little too close to [name_f]Ella[/name_f].

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] definitely sounds and fits better with her siblings names, however, [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is so beautifully unexpected, which I like. My vote did go to [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], though, for you.

Tough one - they’re both lovely choices, and while I think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] works better with the siblings I prefer the more unexpected [name_f]Greta[/name_f].

I have to agree with previous posters. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] sounds like it fits more with the siblings, but [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is gorgeous! I’d love to see it used.

Thanks everyone! I feel like I am in agreement with most of you as far as feeling like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] sounds better with my other kids names. My husband leans more towards [name_f]Greta[/name_f], I feel like I lean more towards [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. We will see what happens! :slight_smile:

Any more thoughts on these two names? I guess I would like some more advice on whether [name_f]Greta[/name_f] sounds too similar to [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I know they both end with the “ah” sound so that is definitely similar. As I mentioned my husband currently likes [name_f]Greta[/name_f] better and it’s starting to grow on me. I think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] has a softer sound and seems to flow better but he thinks [name_f]Greta[/name_f] will age better and that [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] just has a more younger girl sound to it.

I think [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is so glamorous! I do like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] better with the sibling names, like most previous posters. But I think a more interesting stand-alone-name trumps sibling flow in this case; it’s not like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is horrible with the other names!
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] are definitely similar, but the beginning sounds are distinct enough that I think they work fine.
My ONE hangup with [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is the word “regrettable”. But I could be crazy.

I’m sure whatever you pick will be lovely!

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] is a lovely name. It’s important to remember that the child won’t always be around her siblings. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] really stands out! It’s vintage but extremely unique. She will forsure be the only [name_f]Greta[/name_f] in her class.
