Hey all! This is @greyer, having assumed a new Nameberry identity after being locked out of my old account.
I’m a bit late with this, but so proud to announce the birth of my son, [name_m]Shep[/name_m].herd [name_u]Les[/name_u].ter [name_m]Art[/name_m].emis (Lastname) on [name_u]November[/name_u] 4th, one day before his due date at 7lbs 10oz and 19.5 inches long.
We were down to [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] or [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] up until he was born (and didn’t actually decide until the next morning) but as soon as we met baby boy I knew he wasn’t a [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]. The feeling I got from that name was more active and moody, like a stormy sea. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] gave me a sense of peace and guidance, which I felt from him. [name_u]Les[/name_u].ter was already decided on in honor of SO’s grandfather, who passed away 4.5 years ago. [name_m]Art[/name_m].emis was a name we had discussed for him but didn’t like enough to use as a first name. But it popped into my head during the first hour after his birth as we were having skin-to-skin time and SO thought it must have done so for a reason. Luckily we both thought it rounded out the combo so that became his second middle name! His initials spell SLAB which is kind of a funny thing.
One thing I didn’t realize is that apparently no one knows how to spell the word [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]! We’ve gotten [name_m]Shepard[/name_m], [name_m]Sheppard[/name_m], and [name_m]Shephard[/name_m] so far as spellings, but the reaction to his name has been overwhelmingly positive and I can’t imagine him being called anything else.
Thanks for letting me share - I’m already brainstorming names for future siblings in between total sleep deprivation!
Woot woot!! I’ve been rooting for [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] since day one!! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it and it sounds great with his middle names! Congratulations on your baby boy, @greyer!!
