What do you think of [name_f]Grier[/name_f] as a girl’s name? Other similar suggestions? I like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and [name_u]Grey[/name_u] too
[name_f]Love[/name_f] it! I would use the name [name_f]Grier[/name_f], but I don’t like the spelling [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] but prefer [name_f]Grier[/name_f]. I especially like it because it is Scottish and I have Scottish heritage.
Prefer it spelled [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. More symmetrical with the two ee’s rather than the ie. I also know a really awesome [name_f]Greer[/name_f]
[name_f]Grier[/name_f] is nice! I don’t really mind either spelling, [name_f]Grier[/name_f] or [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. I would rank those names:
- [name_f]Grier[/name_f]
- [name_u]Grey[/name_u]
- [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f]
I don’t strongly dislike the name [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], but something about it feels like a name that I wouldn’t like to have. I prefer the similar but less familiar [name_f]Lieschen[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] as well.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] / [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] feel similar in style to [name_f]Grier[/name_f]. Maybe [name_u]Gardner[/name_u]? I knew a man by that name, but I think it could work for a girl. Or [name_m]Gable[/name_m]?
I like [name_f]Grier[/name_f], but love [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I have a thing for G names, though. [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] is my favorite of the three, the meaning lends to its offbeat beauty.
I like [name_f]Greer[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. I really dislike [name_u]Grey[/name_u]; it’s an awful, bland colour, why would you want to name your daughter after that?
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]? [name_f]Grace[/name_f]?
[name_f]Grier[/name_f]/[name_f]Greer[/name_f] isn’t my style. I find the name quite harsh and unattractive (on par with [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] and [name_u]Reese[/name_u]). I don’t mind preppy or short, crisp sounds ([name_f]Paige[/name_f]/[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]/[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]) but I don’t like painfully harsh sounds like [name_f]Grier[/name_f]. It’s a “nails on a blackboard” type of name. I prefer [name_f]Greta[/name_f] to [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and [name_u]Grey[/name_u]/[name_u]Gray[/name_u] is better as a mn only.
I like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] best of the choices offered. I don’t love [name_f]Grier[/name_f]. I think that the best option of the suggested names is [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Grace[/name_f], which has a similar sound but is a much nicer word.
I really don’t like [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a name. I just don’t get it at all. Why not [name_u]Beige[/name_u]? We know two babies named [name_u]Grey[/name_u] right now, one boy and one girl. We know a few little girls with [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a middle name. So it is definitely rising in popularity, and this continues to befuddle me.
I love [name_f]Grier[/name_f] the best. It’s beautiful. Another name I would put in a similar category is [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] (although very different sounding).
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Grier[/name_f], to be honest, the sound seems very harsh to me. I think [name_u]Grey[/name_u] makes a beautiful middle name, especially when paired with something soft and feminine like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], or [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f].
I always feel like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] is a beautiful choice for certain people…if that makes sense. It’s one of those names that’s not for everyone. I have a cousin in law named [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] and it suits her perfectly! Spunky, auburn hair, freckles, charming and very [name_f]Jane[/name_f]-[name_u]Austen[/name_u]-heroine in personality. But not everyone would love and own the name like she does.
Have you considered [name_f]Freya[/name_f] for a first? It’s got some of the same sounds as [name_u]Grey[/name_u]…although it’s the Gr that you seem to be attracted to.
Sorry this is all over the place, I’m supposed to be getting ready to leave the house, so my mind is only half on the typing at the moment. Silly Sessha!
I’m really loving [name_f]Grier[/name_f]/[name_f]Greer[/name_f] lately! I like the [name_f]Grier[/name_f] spelling better, but [name_f]Greer[/name_f]'s not bad.
My only hesitation with it is its unisex (maybe?) nature. I’ve this unwritten rule for myself that I’ll never use a unisex name for a daughter. I have a unisex name and I hate that aspect of it–if my daughter wants something a bit more masculine/unisex/tomboyish, then we’ll come up with something together. But if she’s born a girl, wants to be a girly girl, and doesn’t feel like she can? I’ve been there, and it stinks. So if [name_f]Grier[/name_f]/[name_f]Greer[/name_f] really is unisex, I wouldn’t use it personally. I do love it as a name, though! I’ve heard rumors that [name_f]Grier[/name_f] is the 100% feminine variant of [name_f]Greer[/name_f]/[name_m]Gregor[/name_m]; I’ve heard that [name_f]Greer[/name_f] is the unisex spelling and [name_f]Grier[/name_f] is masculine; I’ve heard that they’re both unisex; I’ve heard that [name_f]Grier[/name_f] is fully feminine while [name_f]Greer[/name_f] is unisex. I honestly don’t know what to believe about it, haha. But I do like it.
Obviously, I love [name_f]Greer[/name_f] but not [name_f]Grier[/name_f]. It’s unisex but [name_f]Greer[/name_f] leans feminine while [name_f]Grier[/name_f] leans masculine.
Prefer [name_f]Greta[/name_f] over [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f]
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as a fn for a boy but as a mn for a girl
I also like [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Garland[/name_f], and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
I think it’s a sophisticated name for a girl. I really like it.

Interesting, the variety of opinions over those three names! I myself like [name_u]Grey[/name_u]…I think it’s offbeat and grungy in a cool way. [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] however, is too close to “wretched”, and [name_f]Grier[/name_f] is like “Grrrr”.
Between [name_f]Greer[/name_f] or [name_f]Grier[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. Although, I don’t love this name.
I vote for [name_f]Greta[/name_f] over [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] (I think of retch with [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] - not attractive). I do really like [name_f]Greta[/name_f].
I think [name_u]Grey[/name_u] or [name_u]Gray[/name_u] is fine as a middle for a girl but as a first name I only see it on a boy. Also is this a color you love? I’m not a fan if gray myself as a color but if you like it then I think it’s fine (as opposed to using it because it’s kinda trendy now).
I could have written this!
I don’t like [name_f]Grier[/name_f]/[name_f]Greer[/name_f] at all, or [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. I think they’re extremely unattractive, to be honest.
I’ve only ever heard [name_f]Grier[/name_f] as a girl’s name, so that gets my vote!
I love [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], and personally don’t care for [name_u]Grey[/name_u].
It would definitely work. It isn’t my style, but I prefer it spelled [name_f]Greer[/name_f] because when I first saw [name_f]Grier[/name_f] I pronounced it like [name_f]Briar[/name_f].
I have texture issues with [name_f]Grier[/name_f], but I always think of [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_m]Garson[/name_m] when I hear it–so, great association, lousy texture. I agree with others that [name_u]Grey[/name_u] works better as a middle name. I really like [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] if it’s pronounced the [name_m]German[/name_m] way, but in English it sounds wretched to me. (Side note: I am a bit of a synesthete. Names tend to have color, texture, and/or taste to me.)
