What do you think of the name [name_f]Grier[/name_f]? Which combo(s) from my long list below do you prefer? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any suggestions?
Thanks, @whitegardenia and @laugre! I was honestly expecting a negative response given that [name_f]Grier[/name_f] is much more popular for girls than it is for boys.
[name_f]Grier[/name_f] has always struck me as a bit harsh and abrupt, but I don’t dislike it. It’s much better suited to a boy in my opinion. Of your combos, I like:
It reminds me of [name_m]Nash[/name_m] [name_f]Grier[/name_f], who couldn’t be more of an arsehole if he tried. Lol. But I am probably in the minority of knowing who he is thanks to social media. From your list, I like:
[name_f]Grier[/name_f] is lovely! Two syllable middles strike me as too short / not having the right flow, so I prefer the options [name_f]Grier[/name_f] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_f]Grier[/name_f] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_f]Greer[/name_f] is my favorite unisex name. I prefer the androgyny of [name_f]Greer[/name_f] but [name_f]Grier[/name_f] looks more masculine.
I like:
I would assume a girl, and I find it difficult to say with the double “r” sound (like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], but worse). But I also get why it’s appealing, so please disregard as long as you’re happy with it.
@gr19 Thanks! I definitely think you’re on to something with the flow and that it might be best to go with a longer middle name.
@nat108 I like the spelling [name_f]Greer[/name_f] as well. Because the name is predominantly feminine in use I decided on the spelling that appears to be more masculine to maybe help buffer that.
@lwj1986 I’m looking for all opinions, positive and negative! I actually thought more people would comment saying they’d assume a [name_f]Grier[/name_f] to be a girl, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m also glad you mentioned the difficulty with the double R sound as that’s something I need to be aware of. You’ve given me a lot to think about. Thanks!
