Griffin or Rhett

[name]Hi[/name] everyone!

My husband and I don’t like many boys name (or should I say we don’t agree on many names). He likes Southern style names like [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Wade[/name]. I don’t think I have a style as to what I like. I really like [name]Griffin[/name] right now. I have always like [name]Luke[/name] too. Our daughters names are [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Ava[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] [name]Juliet[/name].

What do you think sounds better with our last name?

[name]Rhett[/name] [name]William[/name]
or
[name]Griffin[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Griffin[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]

Last name starts with a P , is 2 syllables, and is used in the nursery rhyme Pied “*****”

Is [name]Rhett[/name] girly sounding? According to nameberry it does, but I can’t imagine a girl named [name]Rhett[/name].

Middle names are family names, but I am not tied to them.

Sorry for rambling…any other Southern style names to mention to my husband?

Thanks,
[name]Lindsay[/name] and [name]Steven[/name]

I personally think that [name]Griffin[/name] sounds better with your daughter’s names. I’m honestly not a big fan of the name [name]Rhett[/name] in general (but I agree - I could never imagine naming a girl [name]Rhett[/name])

[name]Kyra[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name]

I think [name]Griffin[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Piper[/name] would be lovely!

I really like both [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name]. Between the two, I think I like [name]Rhett[/name] [name]William[/name] better. The only other Southern name I can think of that I like is [name]Beau[/name]. [name]Beau[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] sounds great.

I love, love, love [name]Rhett[/name]. I am sad that I will never be able to use it bc I am having a girl now and will most likely named her [name]Scarlett[/name]. I happen to like Gone with the Wind, but I’m not obsessed or crazed by any means. [name]Just[/name] so happens that I really like both those names.

[name]Rhett[/name] doesn’t sound even a little girly to me.

I really love [name]Rhett[/name] - a fantastic name. Direct and strong. [name]Love[/name] the sound.

[name]Rhett[/name] [name]William[/name] P----- = perfect!

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I really appreciate the replies. If anyone else has any thoughts that would be great. I guess I worry that [name]Rhett[/name] is a little too “Gone with the Wind”, but I guess the image of [name]Clark[/name] [name]Gable[/name] is pretty manly and there are one or two hockey players in the NHL named [name]Rhett[/name] which my hubby brought to my attention.

I prefer [name]Rhett[/name] by a long shot. It’s bold, masculine, and the image of [name]Clark[/name] [name]Gable[/name] certainly doesn’t hurt. [name]Griffin[/name] just seems trendy and a little childish. I think [name]Rhett[/name] would age much better.

I absolutely adore [name]Rhett[/name]. It would never have occurred to me that it could be used for a girl. [name]Rhett[/name] [name]William[/name] is very, very handsome!

I cannot imagine naming a girl [name]Rhett[/name]. That is just too masculine. The two names that came to mind when reading your list were [name]Graham[/name] and [name]Grant[/name]. I really like all of your names though and I agree that boys names are a challenge.

I like both [name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name] but agree [name]Rhett[/name] feels more grounded. It sounds very masculine to me but I do know of girls out in the word with the name and with the name [name]Brett[/name]. But it’s definitely waaaay more used on boys (I mean, there are girls probably with every masculine name in the books!). I’m sure there are some girls out there named [name]Griffin[/name] too!

Another southern name: [name]Wyatt[/name]? Kind of more Western I guess, but to me [name]Wade[/name] is too…

Good luck!

My vote totally goes to [name]Rhett[/name] [name]William[/name]. I know an adult [name]Rhett[/name] who has always really liked his name, if that helps at all! I think it’s a very handsome name!!

Thanks again! Nice to know that people think [name]Rhett[/name] is a great name. I have definitely warmed to it.
