Grover

Aside from the [name]Grover[/name] on [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name], when is the last time you’ve heard of a [name]Grover[/name]? There was [name]Grover[/name] [name]Cleveland[/name] & there is a senator [name]Grover[/name] but other than that I’ve not heard it. You? Is that a name that won’t make a comeback because of the [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name] [name]Grover[/name]? [name]Just[/name] curious.

Well… I would say that I could never use it, but [name]Oscar[/name] is #162 on Nameberry in spite of [name]Oscar[/name] the Grouch. [name]Grover[/name] is much more lovable than [name]Oscar[/name], so it probably could be done. But it might be hard for a child to be the first one to start bringing the name back.

I think [name]Grover[/name] is quite handsome, and definitely more wearable than most other names associated with [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name].

I’ve actually met two. [name]One[/name] in their early 20’s and the other is probably 4/5 now. [name]Both[/name] suited their name and seemed to like their name. I actually have a bit of a crush on the name, it does sound really cool!

This is a GP of mine, for sure. I love the “V” sound and the tree connection. Oh, and [name]Grover[/name] is the best SS character by a mile. I want this name to make a comeback.

[name]Grover[/name] Norquist is in the news in the US a lot right now.

I absolutely adore [name]Grover[/name]. It’s so spunky, unexpected, handsome, and fun. I used it for my puppy (and a character), but [name]Grover[/name] is DEFINITELY usable on a (real) human. If [name]Oscar[/name] made a comeback, why not [name]Grover[/name]?

I love [name]Grover[/name]! I actually met a man named [name]Grover[/name] a year or two ago through work. We just met in passing, but he seemed like a very nice guy and not negatively affected by [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name] at all, haha.

Good luck!

ooh I love [name]Grover[/name]. I’ve never met one… but I’d love to!

I have a 4 week old baby named [name]Grover[/name] [name]Gordon[/name]. [name]Gordon[/name] is a family name but my husband has always loved the name [name]Grover[/name]. It caused quite the controversy when we announced his birth. My mother in law hated it so much she didn’t visit him for 2 weeks!!!
It gets many strange reactions and now when people ask where we got it from I just say [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name] to see their reaction. It’s entertaining!
There have been many people who love it though and think its great we chose something different. His name suits him and I think it goes well with his big sisters name [name]Autumn[/name] [name]Lily[/name].

Very cool…I may have suggest [name]Grover[/name] as a name to one of my friends next any of them have a boy. As I am DONE recreating! LOL

I love [name]Grover[/name]! It’s a family name on my husbands side. I think it’s adorable, and on a little boy I might die from the cute. Can’t you imagine a scruffy little [name]Grover[/name] in snap overalls?

**I should mention though that the only modern [name]Grover[/name] I’ve heard of is [name]Grover[/name] Norquist and he’s not the best namesake in my opinion.

[name]Grover[/name] is also a character in [name]Rick[/name] [name]Riordan[/name]'s [name]Percy[/name] [name]Jackson[/name] series. Granted, he’s a satyr. But he’s the main character’s best friend and has only positive character traits. Personally, I think the name’s amazing! I’m not sure if I’m adventurous to use it myself, but I’d be thrilled to know a little (or grown up) [name]Grover[/name]. I actually think that the name ages pretty well. [name]Grover[/name] could easily be President or a yoga instructor. Hmm…the more I say (type) the name, the more I like it. And nn’s [name]Grove[/name], Groove are fantastic.

[name]Grover[/name] is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I am sure a lot of people think of [name]Grover[/name] from [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name], or [name]Grover[/name] [name]Cleveland[/name], or [name]Grover[/name] Norquist, since it’s not a very common name and has just a few well-known bearers. I like it because it’s not very common but is still recognizable and easy to pronounce. I don’t personally know any Grovers.

I was at the local [name]Farmer[/name]'s Market a couple years ago and saw a baby [name]Grover[/name]. He and his parents were hanging out with other young moms and dads and their kids. He was a cute little black-haired boy, maybe ten months or so, and hearing “[name]Grover[/name]” first made me smile, and then made me reconsider the name. I don’t see why it couldn’t make a comeback, especially (as pp’s have said) if [name]Oscar[/name] can.

I adore [name]Grover[/name]. It would be on my list, but my fiance vetoed it because it makes him think of [name]Grover[/name] Norquist.
