Whether or not you watch the sacconejoly youtube channel I thought it would be fun if we guessed what their next baby, a girl, is going to be called. They’ve decided the name and given some deliberate clues so I’ll list them below as well as some background info - because I’m having fun guessing and I thought you would all appreciate this game too!
Info;
nearly 2 million people have subscribed to watch the Saccone-Joly family make daily videos on their youtube channel about their everyday lives. They’re an Irish couple living outside [name_u]London[/name_u]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f], the mum, is half Italian and their roots to [name_f]Italy[/name_f] are really strong. They have a daughter [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] Tommasina, and a son [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] (both middles honouring; [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] is the dad. Their first names have big personal significance too).
The Clues;
firstly this is the main clue, a blackboard containing lots of letters, and I’m assuming the plan is to gradually remove a letter until just her name is left. (attatched below!)
in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfEPJP1kgVI (name convo from 5 minutes in!) they hint the name will start with a D and there’s a two times when [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is muted out saying it. I’m not certain whether it’s true or not, though.
from what I can recall, in the past the parents have said they like the names [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f] and [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] but they’ve ruled them out for various reasons.
Personally;
I think it could be [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] - it’s flowy, international, similar style and same syllables as [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_m]Eduardo[/name_m], and starts with a D. It’s not Italian like the other two kids, HOWEVER, there is a similar name [name_f]Dalila[/name_f] which is used in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] from what I can find (around #100 on the charts there) and I can definitely see them picking that. I’ve also thrown around [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]/[name_f]Dafne[/name_f], and [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. But that’s just assuming it’s going to start with a D.
Alternatively they might go down the E- name route again - [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] seems to be a big contender from commenters (always misspelled haha). I think they’ll probably use the Italian [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] if anything. The only Italian E name I could see them picking is [name_f]Emanuela[/name_f] but it seems too close to [name_f]Emilia[/name_f].
A few random ones I think they’d pick tactically - [name_f]Stella[/name_f] ([name_f]Estella[/name_f] would melt me but I’m skeptical they’d choose it), [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]/[name_f]Ciara[/name_f] (coincidentally similar Irish/Italian) or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
I don’t watch them but I’ve heard abou their third child being a girl and my first thought was [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]/[name_f]Eleonora[/name_f].
It’s Italian (the latter is, anyway) but easily pronounced in English, it’s different enough to [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] yet of the same style and it generally seems to fit their style.
As for D names, maybe [name_f]Delia[/name_f]/[name_f]Dalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Daria[/name_f] or [name_f]Daniela[/name_f] (if the like [name_f]Emanuela[/name_f])? If [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], then I think they’d drop the -h, spelling it [name_f]Delila[/name_f], which is a more international version (though mostly prn. de-lee-la).
[name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] is gorgeous but feels a bit like overkill with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_m]Eduardo[/name_m]. I don’t really watch them much these days but I’m so invested in this baby’s name haha!!
I’m definitely with you on [name_f]Delila[/name_f] / [name_f]Dalila[/name_f]. It’s not normally my thing but would sound fab with their kids I think.
I don’t know, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is pretty long but also quite common, so the effect isn’t as big, however, [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] seems like a lot of name to me so [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f]/[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] doesn’t feel like too big a stretch…
I don’t normally watch them (but i did just see a few clips) but as far as I’m aware they still haven’t had the baby so I’ll give this a go. Personally with the names [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m] I would name the next one with an E name as well. Probably [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
But from what I gathered the “rules” seem to be:
No E names
No V names
There is no Z in the name
Not Guilitta, [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f] (names she likes but won’t be using)
Most likely quite a feminine name (no unisex names)
