[name]Ever[/name] really really love a name that you would never use because of some reason or another? [name]Share[/name] them here

[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Bonnie[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name]
Ephiny
[name]Ireland[/name]
[name]Caspar[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Trevor[/name]
[name]August[/name]
[name]Gideon[/name]
[name]Ephraim[/name]

[name]Lysander[/name]
[name]Byron[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
[name]Malik[/name]
[name]Ronald[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name]
[name]Tanner[/name]

Most of my names either have bad or notable connotations or have already been used. What about you lot?

Itā€™s an unfortunate truth that many really ā€˜bad girlā€™ names are totally unusable, but so beautiful.

I like [name]Circe[/name], [name]Jezebel[/name], [name]Delilah[/name] (although many others seem to have gotten over this association) and [name]Lolita[/name].

[name]Auburn[/name]

Oh, I definitely have some guilty pleasures!

Girls

[name]Midnight[/name]
Darling
[name]Quintessa[/name]
Junebug

My biggest is [name]Abigail[/name]. I think itā€™s sweet and vintage and pretty and wonderful! Only, it was so popular a few years back and I donā€™t like the nn [name]Abby[/name]. I can see myself using it as a mn, though.

Girls:
[name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Billie[/name]
[name]Theodora[/name]
[name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Tatiana[/name]
[name]Virginia[/name]- Gosh, I couldnā€™t imagine the teasing she might get :frowning:
[name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Summer[/name]
[name]Alexis[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]/ [name]Maisie[/name]- These are new ones of mine!
[name]Plum[/name]
[name]Nell[/name]
[name]Ingrid[/name]

Boys:
[name]Ferdinand[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name]

I [name]LOVE[/name] lots of names that my dh doesnā€™t. (If I were a single hipster mom, these are the names I would def. use:)

[name]Clementine[/name] - so pretty and happy  and it reminds me of [name]Eternal[/name] [name]Sunshine[/name] of the Spotless Mind.

[name]Ava[/name] (super popular, yes. But I love the closeness to Avian, the birdlike quality. For some reason, dh thinks of ā€œava= booty callā€ when he hears itā€¦ yeah, I donā€™t get it either. haha)

[name]Freya[/name]- gorgeous and exotic-sounding. ā€œfreeā€ without sounding too hippy

[name]Alouette[/name]- means bird in french. Reminds me of Piroutte, which Iā€™ve always loved (as a word, not as a name. haha)

[name]Primrose[/name]- I love the idea of tiny roses, pink names are so lovely. However, itā€™s a bit too sweet for the playground, i think.

[name]Quigley[/name]- I just think itā€™s so cute  But I donā€™t want my son to hate meā€¦ (and dh would never ever ever go for it. hahaha)

[name]Marigold[/name]- so lovely. sigh.

[name]Arlo[/name]- Makes me want a black-haired fair-skinned boy who wears plaid shirts. Sooo hipster. but soooo cute.

[name]Sparrow[/name]- I heard from the video game [name]Fable[/name] II, not [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name]. I think itā€™s adorable. Esp. for a boy, but cute on a girl too

@pachydermia My name is [name]Freya[/name]! :slight_smile:

I like but would never useā€¦

Boys: [name]Atticus[/name] (family hates it, bit too much for a kid to carry [name]IMO[/name]) and [name]Liam[/name] (too popular)
Girls: [name]Magnolia[/name] (too hippy, but really cute), [name]Hermione[/name] (two words. [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name].) and [name]Skye[/name] (see [name]Magnolia[/name])

[name]Ava[/name]
[name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Vanessa[/name]
[name]Natasha[/name]

Okay, youā€™ll probably laugh, but Iā€™ve always liked the sound of Clarinet and the [name]Claire[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Nettie[/name], and [name]Etta[/name] nicknames that come with it. [name]Don[/name]'t worry, Iā€™ll never use it! :stuck_out_tongue:

I like [name]Jocasta[/name] a lot, but the myth puts me off.

[name]Bellatrix[/name], too, but many may associate it with the Death Eater.

[name]Heathcliff[/name]! But it sounds lispy when you say it outloud and would seem ridiculous on a child. Also [name]Hermione[/name] and [name]Bellatrix[/name]. J.K. Rowling came up with some amazing names! Iā€™m so jealous that a lot of them seem ruined for actual namers thoughā€¦

Oooh haha i have some:)

Girls:
[name]Ava[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name]
Everleigh (i know with the horrible spelling!)
[name]Erica[/name]
[name]Addison[/name]

Huh, they all start with A or E! Haha

Boys:
[name]Templeton[/name]
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
[name]Grey[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Melbourne[/name]
[name]Montgomery[/name]
Macaughly
[name]Nigel[/name]
[name]Bruce[/name]

Wow, i have alot more boy names then girls, haha, mostly because my hubby is so picky with boys names, he calls most of them ā€˜stupidā€™

Wow! What a great thread!

Boys: [name]Cosmo[/name], [name]Ford[/name], [name]Quest[/name], Waite, [name]Major[/name], [name]Shepherd[/name], Catcher, [name]Ozzie[/name], [name]Axton[/name], [name]Pilot[/name], [name]Thatcher[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Cullen[/name], and [name]Philo[/name].

Girls: [name]Prudence[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Betty[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Nella[/name], [name]Mila[/name], and [name]Piper[/name].

[name]Mila[/name] was butchered by the [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] craze (canā€t stand that girl!)
[name]Edward[/name] and [name]Cullen[/name], obvious twilight associationā€ which would bug me.

[name]Cosmo[/name], makes me think of that green- haired fairy on that cartoon Nickelodeon.

[name]Shepherd[/name] and [name]Thatcher[/name] make me think of ā€[name]Grey[/name]ā€s Anatomyā€ which doesnā€t bother me too much, butā€

[name]Ozzie[/name]ā€ automatically makes me think of [name]Ozzie[/name] [name]Osborne[/name], then Dr. [name]Oz[/name], and of course The [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name], but I digress.

[name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Nella[/name] are family names; all the others are just names that I like but could never use.

OMG!! I have a lot!!!

Girls:
[name]Circe[/name]
[name]Clementina[/name]
[name]Serafina[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Luisa[/name]
[name]Celestina[/name]
[name]Ava[/name] (too popular)
Eulaila
Fresa
[name]Berry[/name] (with y or with i or with ie)
[name]Bella[/name]
[name]Kaitlyn[/name]
[name]Winter[/name]
[name]Honor[/name]
[name]Leonor[/name]
[name]Lavanda[/name]
And the better one isā€¦[name]Zhen[/name]! (althought i`m thinking of use it)

For boys:
[name]Andrea[/name]
Thiago
[name]Juli[/name]ā€n
[name]Fernando[/name]
[name]Domingo[/name]
[name]Pascal[/name]
Gianluigi
[name]Danielle[/name]

And much more!!!

I have so many, itā€™s ridiculous. Especially thanks to JK Rowling who introduced so many to me.

[name]Hermione[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Ginevra[/name]
[name]Bellatrix[/name]
[name]Minerva[/name]
[name]Agatha[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]

The girl names Iā€™d actually use if I had a man brave enough to stand behind me!

[name]Sirius[/name]
Lupin
Emeric
[name]Cedric[/name]
[name]Potter[/name]
[name]Orion[/name]
[name]Draco[/name]
[name]Granger[/name]
[name]Elder[/name]
[name]Frost[/name]
[name]Alby[/name]
[name]Barnaby[/name]
[name]Ren[/name]
[name]Crosby[/name]
[name]Hero[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Abraham[/name]
[name]Osiris[/name]
[name]Alexei[/name]
[name]Alexis[/name]
Ames

Boy names are harder. Itā€™s easier to fall into words with boy names and you donā€™t want him to sound ridiculous. As long as a girl name is real and feminine, Iā€™d use it.

Iā€™d like to add [name]Ozma[/name], [name]Otto[/name], [name]Shea[/name] and [name]Shia[/name] to my boy list. Sigh.
