What are your guilty pleasure baby names. Most of mine are names I think are super cool and would maybe use for characters. I’m just not brave enough to use any of these IRL :((

Hi there.
I don’t think that there are too many that I really love but wouldn’t use. I like the idea of using an unique name. Here are a few that I think are really cute, but maybe just a bit too much!
Girls-
Cricket maybe nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u]-so cute, right?
Eilonwy-I’m just not totally sure that this is a real name.
Meriwen-same as above
Saffron-I think that it’s so beautiful, but just not name-y enough. It’d take a lot of guts!
Boys-
Cricket maybe nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u]-I like it for a boy too!
Pip-I’d like to use it as a nn for [name_m]Peter[/name_m], although it really works for [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Philipe[/name_m], [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] or [name_m]Percival[/name_m] too. But I mainly like [name_m]Peter[/name_m] nn [name_u]Pip[/name_u]. I just don’t think I’d be brave enough to pull off having a [name_u]Pip[/name_u]. I also love [name_m]Peter[/name_m] nn Patch, which seems a little more doable.
Zooey-I only like this as a nn too. Mostly for [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], but also [name_m]Zacceus[/name_m] is nice. It’s too pretentious though, because of the character. And just a little too goofy.

For the most part, my guilty pleasure names are ones that I think are absolutely stunning and feel like they’re straight out of a fairy tale, but that are too much for my every-day taste in names/don’t match with my top picks:

A lot of these are just [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] names that I love but I don’t think would work in the modern day and definitely not with my family!
Edgar/Edmund/Edwin -I love all these names but I feel like my family would make fun of them for sounding old fashioned and British (I’m in the USA)
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Fabian[/name_m]
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
[name_m]Godric[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m]

I think a lot of your GPs are usable! Especially [name_u]Scout[/name_u], [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] (I used to know a girl named this. I also knew a girl named [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]), [name_f]Moon[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_u]Fox[/name_u], [name_m]Willem[/name_m], [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], and [name_u]Davis[/name_u].
Girls:
Lunaria
[name_f]Tigerlily[/name_f] (I’d use this as a middle)
[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] (I’d use this as a middle)
Boys:

I don’t really have any guilty pleasure names, because I straight up don’t feel shame (I’m just as dramatic in real life as I am with my taste in names), but these might count:
[name_u]Snapdragon[/name_u]
[name_f]Eilonwy[/name_f] (as well)
[name_f]Andromache[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwynne[/name_f]
Ferewin
[name_f]Gwenllian[/name_f]
[name_f]Cendrillon[/name_f]
[name_f]Desdemona[/name_f]
[name_f]Philophrosyne[/name_f]
[name_f]Styx[/name_f] ~ I would use this as a nickname, but I wouldn’t as a first.
A few names that actually are guilty pleasures for me are names that, compared to the rest of my style, are really normal.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f]
[name_f]Bee[/name_f]
[name_f]Sloane[/name_f]
For boys:
[name_m]Noctis[/name_m]
[name_m]Havelock[/name_m]
[name_m]Tolliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Cassander[/name_m]
[name_u]Eliot[/name_u]

I’ve been thinking that I need to add [name_m]Colm[/name_m] to this list. I think that [name_m]Colm[/name_m] is my absolute favorite boy name. But w/out an Irish accent (I’m American!) it just doesn’t sound right. It sounds like trying too hard, & it’d be so difficult to get other non Irish people to say right. I just find it so dreamy.

I already have 5 children so my guilty pleasure names are not necessarily unusable but they wouldn’t work with my children’s names.

Not sure if this counts, but I kind of like the idea of just using a letter for the mn, and then calling them by their first name + the letter
Examples: “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] P”, “[name_u]Penny[/name_u] J”
I proobably wouldnt do this in real life though, maybe give them a proper mn but still continue to call them by fn + the letter!

that definitely counts! i think that’s a sweet idea x
is it strange that my guilty pleasure names are actually really popular?
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
I love them so so much but they’re so popular that I don’t think I could ever use them
I have a not-so-subtle obsession with
[name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]- tragedeigh
others for girls:
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Winslet[/name_f]
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
Boys:
[name_m]Piers[/name_m]
[name_m]Casper[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
[name_u]Miller[/name_u]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
yay thread necromancy, I looked for a more recent version but didn’t find it.
So many of my favorites are natural disasters or terrorists or whatnot it’s almost funny.
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f]. [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. [name_f]Karen[/name_f]. [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. [name_f]Irma[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to name a few (heh) Some more like [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] are also hurricanes but I think they’re still ok to use.
Speaking of which, I think Catastrophe would be a pretty name if it didn’t mean…well, catastrophe.
I love [name_m]Casper[/name_m] but I’m already known for having a weird [name_f]Wyoming[/name_f] obsession, I don’t need to add to that perception.
Oh and Kerguelen. I have never met anyone with first name Kerguelen. There’s probably a reason.
