[name_f]Isis[/name_f] is one of my favourite girl names and I love its connection to mythology, but unfortunately its terrorist connotations are too strong for me to ever confidently use it.
other GPs on my list are [name_u]Genie[/name_u], [name_f]Elphaba[/name_f], [name_f]Fortuna[/name_f], [name_f]Glory[/name_f], [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] (would consider this as a middle name), Fiyero, [name_m]Helios[/name_m], [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] and [name_u]Penn[/name_u].
Elpheba is so cute! Especially with the nicknames Ellie or Elphie. I love Wicked, itâs one of the first plays (besides Annie) my family and I saw when I was growing up
Ooh I love [name_f]Muse[/name_f] and [name_u]Kashmir[/name_u]! Perhaps for [name_u]Kashmir[/name_u], you could go the more traditional route and spell it [name_m]Casimir[/name_m]. (If thatâs whatâs stopping you from using it)
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_u]Connor[/name_u]: too similar in sound to my brotherâs name
[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m]: I havenât totally ruled this out, but I think spelling/pronunciation issues would be daunting where I live. I donât like [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] nearly as much.
[name_m]Adolph[/name_m] and Adolpha/Adelpha - reason clear.
[name_f]Venus[/name_f] & [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] - too much to live up to
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m] & [name_f]Isis[/name_f] - we are in no way connected to Egyptian culture
[name_f]Alastriona[/name_f], [name_f]Adrasteia[/name_f], [name_f]Domitille[/name_f], [name_f]Desideria[/name_f], [name_f]AustÄja[/name_f] - too difficult to spell
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Aerith[/name_f], [name_f]Tifa[/name_f], [name_u]Brixton[/name_u] - not ârealâ names
[name_u]Holly[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Echo[/name_u], [name_u]Wolf[/name_u] - our last name is [name_m]Woods[/name_m], lol
I feel thatđ [name_f]My[/name_f] sister and I will be talking about baby names because she plans on getting pregnant within the next 2 years, every time I suggest a name she says that the ones I like are too pretentious
Itâs so funny because for the most part all the boys names I like are more mainstream and classic while my girl names are absolutely eccentric. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] been obsessed with the name [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] (Nico) since I read the [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] series growing up and it was one of the characters names Instead of [name_u]Connor[/name_u], maybe you could try [name_m]Conan[/name_m] or ConrĂ instead.
I donât really feel guilty about either of these but I love and wouldnât use [name_f]Winona[/name_f] and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] for various reasons
I feel like [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_u]Ryder[/name_u] basically owns the name at this point. Thereâs no way I can hear the name and not automatically think of her. [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] like [name_f]Uma[/name_f] [name_m]Thurman[/name_m] I guess
