I am fairly neutral on each of those name, but I think they make a cool, modern-sounding combo. They work together.
My only criticism is that both are very nickname-y. Have you thought of [name_m]Angus[/name_m] or [name_u]August[/name_u] for “[name_u]Gus[/name_u]”? I think [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] or anything similarly lengthy/clunky would not go well with [name_m]Davey[/name_m], though.
Either way, I think they complement each other well
I really like both names, but they are very ‘nicknamey’…what about [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m] or [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m], nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] [name_m]Davey[/name_m]?
[name_u]Gus[/name_u] [name_m]Davey[/name_m] has an old west feel to me which if you want that could work really well. Other lengthening options might be:
[name_m]Angus[/name_m] - keeps with the cowboy feel
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]/[name_m]Ferguson[/name_m]
[name_m]Gustav[/name_m]
Overall its not my taste but I think it could be really cute.
My comments would be similar to above and I think I’d choose longer names and use the nn’s you love. If [name_m]Davey[/name_m] is an honour surname I would stay with it but otherwise I would lengthen it. Maybe [name_m]Davis[/name_m]? [name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] or [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] are possibilities. I really like [name_u]Gus[/name_u] but probably as a nn.
I agree that [name_u]Gus[/name_u] [name_m]Davey[/name_m] is a bit too nicknamey. I think finding a longer version for one of the names would help the combo. [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Davey[/name_m] or [name_u]Gus[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m], perhaps?
I think it sounds like the first and last name of a cowboy. As a first and middle name it sounds a bit lacking. I agree that you should find a “full” name for either [name_u]Gus[/name_u] or [name_m]Davey[/name_m].
