Gwenivere Luna M..... Wells

We”re down to 3 middle names for 4th DD [name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] M??. It”s hard to get any comments or votes, due to my time difference-i guess. These are the 3 names, [name]Michaelyn/name, [name]Micaiah[/name] ([name]Mick[/name]-eye-ah) and [name]Michelina[/name] (Meesh-ah-lean-ah). All are forms of [name]Michael[/name] or [name]Michelle[/name]. Thank you for your input. Looking for a final! Thanks. Came from Babynamegenie…hope it’s nicer here.

Yes, babynamegenie is a harsh world indeed. [name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry!

Firstly, might you consider spelling [name]Guinevere[/name] with its traditional spelling, the one I just used? I know that eliminates the [name]Gwen[/name] nickname, but you do get to use [name]Evie[/name] or [name]Vera[/name], bot incredibly sweet! Honestly, these would be my votes for your daughter’s name:

[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Michelina[/name] [name]Lunette[/name] [name]Wells[/name]

I looked up [name]Michelina[/name] and found that is is pronounced mik-ell-ee-na, not like the Michelin Tire Company…

OR

[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micheline[/name] [name]Wells[/name]

[name]Micheline[/name] is a French name meaning “who is like God?” and is pronounced mih-keh-leen.

Good luck!

Yeah our other 3 children have G names…so we’re sticking with [name]Gwenivere[/name] nn [name]Gwen[/name]. I think [name]Michelina[/name] was more of a token name…because my mn is [name]Michelle[/name]. I actually like/love [name]Michaelyn[/name] and [name]Micaiah[/name]. So I’m really torn. Thank you for your help.

If it helps…We have a [name]Gracie[/name] [name]Kylie[/name] [name]Shae[/name], [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Zachary[/name] [name]Michael[/name] and Galaxie [name]Loren[/name] [name]Elise[/name]. [name]Gwenivere[/name] will probably be our last, so I’m seeking perfection.

I also prefer the more traditional [name]Guinevere[/name] spelling and I think you could continue to use [name]Gwen[/name] as a nn if you want. Lots of nicknames are not spelled exactly like the full name, like [name]Bill[/name] for [name]William[/name] and [name]Mike[/name] for [name]Michael[/name]. I love [name]Gwen[/name] (my DD is [name]Gwendolyn[/name]) and it is a natural nn for [name]Guinevere[/name]. [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Gavin[/name], Galaxie and [name]Gwen[/name] - really sound nice together I think!

[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name] - pretty
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Michaelyn[/name] - [name]Michaelyn[/name] seems made up to me in combination with the lovely [name]Guinevere[/name] and [name]Luna[/name]. I would prefer [name]Michaela[/name] but only spelled this way
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Michelina[/name] - I prefer this if it is pronounced like a CH rather than K.
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micheline[/name] - pp suggested this and I like it! Again, prefer pronounced like CH instead of K. It has a nice flow since it doesn’t end in -a like [name]Luna[/name] does.

I actually think that [name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Michelle[/name] works very nicely.

My votes:
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micheline[/name] - so pretty!
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Michelle[/name]
[name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name]

[name]Hi[/name]!

I love the suggestion of [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micheline[/name] for the middles, but [name]Micheline[/name] is pronounced with a “sh” sound (like [name]Michelle[/name]), not a hard K sound, in French.

Of the middles on your list, I’ll vote for [name]Micaiah[/name] ([name]Michaiah[/name] [name]Lunette[/name]), because it’s a Biblical name with meaning and history.

Good luck!

When I googled it I found it to be said with SH sound also, that’s why I chose it. My middle name is [name]Michelle[/name]-hubby [name]Michael[/name], so we’re looking for a family name. There’s even a website that pronounces the name for you w audio. It also said SH sound. But I guess everyone has thier own way. I love [name]Micaiah[/name] and [name]Michaelyn[/name] the best…so trying to decide.
[name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name] [name]Wells[/name]
[name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Michaelyn[/name] [name]Wells[/name]

I googled it and it said mik-eh-leen, but whatever you think is right! I’m not French, so I can’t say where that website got the pronunciation…

I would choose [name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name] [name]Wells[/name], but I think [name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name] [name]Lunette[/name] [name]Wells[/name] is much prettier, personally! Good luck!

In French, [name]Micheline[/name] is pronounced with a “sh” sound. (I love those pronunciation sites by the way!) On the other hand, I’d pronounce [name]Michaelyn[/name] with a hard “k” sound (like Mik-uh-lyn), because it’s “[name]Michael[/name]” with a “yn” tacked onto the end. With the change in spelling, it’s no longer a French name with the French “sh” pronunciation.

Here’s the site pronouncing [name]Micheline[/name]: http://www.forvo.com/word/micheline_arcier/...I couldn’t find a site pronouncing [name]Michaelyn[/name], though.

I like [name]Micaiah[/name] better than I do [name]Michaelyn[/name] because [name]Micaiah[/name] is a solid Biblical name with history.

So, of your finalists, I’m voting for [name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name].

Whichever you choose, good luck!

Oh! From what I know, [name]Michelina[/name] is pronounced with a hard K sound, not a sh. I know two Michelinas who pronounce it with a hard K, and there’s also a brand of frozen Italian food with the name, and in the commercials, it’s pronounced with a hard K sound.

Because people may not pronounce a lot of the Mich names like you want them to, it seems like [name]Micaiah[/name] is the best bet, with an obvious pronunciation.

Good luck!

This is where I found my [name]Micheline[/name] pronunciation - How to pronounce Micheline? (RECOMMENDED) - PronounceNames.com

I agree with [name]Jill[/name]; [name]Micaiah[/name], a name with history and clear pronunciation, is the best choice.

[name]Hi[/name]! I saw that, too, but there’s sadly a lot of misinformation on the internet. If it’s French, it has a “sh” sound, like [name]Michelle[/name] and [name]Marcheline[/name]. [name]Michel[/name] in [name]German[/name] has a hard K sound, but [name]Micheline[/name] is French, not [name]German[/name]. Hmm…

Either way, it’s pretty clear that pronunciation will likely be an issue with the name!

Have a good day!

I agree with you, [name]Jill[/name], I do. I’m just reporting what I saw. I am aware that [name]Micheline[/name], [name]Marcheline[/name], [name]Michelle[/name], and other such French names use a SH sound - no idea why this website reported differently! Thanks for trying to clarify.

To the poster, have you considered [name]Gwendolyn[/name]? I was looking at the names of your other children - [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Gavin[/name], Galaxie - and noticed you have two with -ie endings and one with an N ending. Maybe you could square it up and use another N ending with [name]Gwendolyn[/name], securing your [name]Gwen[/name] nickname. [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is beautiful, just like [name]Gwenivere[/name]/[name]Guinevere[/name]! [name]Just[/name] a thought - I completely understand if you just love [name]Gwenivere[/name]!

Thank you all… I lthink I like [name]Gwenivere[/name] [name]Luna[/name] [name]Micaiah[/name] [name]Wells[/name] the best! And we would pronounce [name]Michaelyn[/name] as a k sound Mah-kay-lynn- like micheala is pronounced only with the lynn sound. In our baby name book in the girl section there is [name]Michael[/name]; the first name variation is [name]Michaelyn[/name]…from [name]Michael[/name] “who is like god” Also stong biblical balance as is [name]Micaiah[/name]. Thanks again…hope the comments keep coming. [name]Courtney[/name]

Got it! I got confused with so many pronunciations! I think [name]Micaiah[/name] is a great way to name your baby after you and your husband.

Good luck!

We have a close family friend with the name [name]Gwendoline[/name] and we were torn between the 2 names…but for fear of being called [name]Wendy[/name] instead of [name]Gwen[/name] or [name]Gwennie[/name] we went with [name]Gwenivere[/name]. I like the history w Lady [name]Gwenivere[/name] also. It gives it a little extra ! Be glad we’re not discussing our other options: [name]Gedaliah[/name], Gabanna, [name]Greta[/name], Gravitee or [name]Gwenyth[/name]. I can only imagine the feedback.

[name]Courtney[/name], I love [name]Greta[/name] and [name]Gwyneth[/name] from your list!

Take care!

love [name]Gwenyth[/name]!

[name]Just[/name] a note that if you were considering [name]Gwendolyn[/name], I’ve never had any one call my DD [name]Wendy[/name] (I’m glad about that, too, because I don’t really care for it). [name]Gwen[/name] and [name]Gwennie[/name] come much more naturally I think.

[name]Love[/name] the Camelot spelling of [name]Guinevere[/name]. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Gwen[/name].
I agree with [name]Jill[/name] that [name]Micaiah[/name] is cool. What about [name]Micah[/name]?
What about [name]Marcheline[/name]? [name]Marcheline[/name] is so pretty!
