H name Problem

Hey everyone,
We have recently found out we are pregnant with number 3. Our problem is our two existing children have very similar names. Not on purpose, we just loved the first baby name and then couldn’t agree on anything else for the second!
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] (girl)
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] (boy)
You will note they both begin with H and end in ER. Our last name also begins with H.
Many people have asked us what we would call number 3 over the years, and now we are really stuck!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] we go with another H name or should we mix it up and have a different first letter but still have an ER ending name? We would like all the names to go together and not have a random ‘[name_m]John[/name_m]’ for example for number 3.
Any suggestions??

I think you can go either way, with an H name or -er name and #3 will fit right in. Look and see if there are multiple H names or -er names you both like, so you know you have options if you have more children in the future.

You can stick with a similar style which will unite the sibset without making them look too matchy

Agreed with the above comments. I know a family with six kids, five boys and a girl, all whose names are six letters, two syllables, and start with K. Their last name is also a six letter, two syllable K name.

Congrats on your third baby!

I agree with all the other PPs. Definitely pick one or the other, though. Congratulations on baby 3!

I would go with an H name without an -er ending OR an not H name with an -er ending.

Thanks everyone! good to know i’m on the right track.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestions too!
Oh my goodness @livelaughlove._ 6 K’s and here i was thinking we were the next kardashians!

I would definitely go with a H name ending in ‘er’. Otherwise the youngest will feel left out!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

Boys - Haider, [name_m]Hilmer[/name_m], [name_m]Hooper[/name_m]

Girls - [name_f]Heather[/name_f], [name_f]Hester[/name_f], Hesper

I like [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_m]Hooper[/name_m]. And [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Heather[/name_f].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. I have a [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and a [name_m]Hendrix[/name_m], both H names that were not on purpose. I’m in your boat, expecting baby #3 in 2 weeks and can’t decide to stick with the “H” names or to diverge with something new. My first 2 are 18 monhs apart and already act like twins, so I am nervous that by not sticking with the H names, #3 might feel left out. On the other hand, he/she might feel special with a unique name. Could go both ways so easily.

If we stick with H names, our options are (don’t know sex of #3):

Boy: [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Harlan[/name_m], [name_m]Heath[/name_m]
Girl: [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_u]Harley[/name_u]

Especially since your first two children have their first name initial the same as their surname initial, I would definitely pick another H name. I don’t think it is as important if the names end the same or if they have the same number of syllables.

With [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] I can imagine a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u].

I think [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], [name_u]Harley[/name_u] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] all fit well with your other kids’ names!

I would stick with H personally, so they don’t feel left out. I don’t think the “er” ending is necessary though.

You have three possible themes to continue: H names, er endings, or occupational names. I would choose one but not all three. Too restricting.
