Which one do you favor?
I’m curious, what kind of little girl do you picture when you see/hear these names? Her MN will be [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

Oh man this is a hard one. I dont adore most names, but both of these I adore.
With the quiet feminine classic of Jane, I would personally go with Hadley Jane. Hadley (and surnames as FNs for girls, in general), to me, leans q bit more spunky, confident, independent, etc than Sadie. Sadie Jane is juuuust a touch cutsie (again, for my taste), and Hadley Jane feels a bit more balanced.
I likr the diff vowel sounds as well between Had (hadley) and Jay (jane). The double long A of Say/Jay (sadie jane) isnt as pleasant to me ear.
I prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], it sounds brighter, gives me warm cottagecore vibes. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is nice too, but feels a bit trendy, which isn’t a bad thing at all, just not my cup of tea.
I really like both, but [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], though ‘trendy’ in feel, would be lovely with the feminine [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I prefer [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] Not a fan of the “sad” part of [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
Sadie feels a bit more feminine, but I do personally prefer the sound of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] in general. Either one works well with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I think [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] would be my pick overall. I think [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] has just the right balance of modern and classic. But you really can’t go wrong with either.
I prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]! It’s my favorite girls’ name. However, with the middle name [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I would go with [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] because [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a bit too much “ay” sound for me. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is really sweet!
This is such a hard one! Both names are adorable. At first I was falling for [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but the more I said it over in my head [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] was just too cute!! I think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] definitely is more fitting if you plan to use both names often. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is adorable if you are planning on mostly calling her just [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. I think I prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for the moment.
When I picture [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] I see a sassy but sophisticated young women. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] reminds me of a spontaneous wild child with a sweet side, but never loses her wild child side no matter how old she is.
You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for the helpful input.
This is our third baby - first girl - and definitely the last, so I’m feeling the pressure to get this name right! It’s been so hard deciding on a girl name after we’ve had so many saved up over the past 5 years with our two boy pregnancies. In a weird way I’m mourning all the girl names that I’ll never get to use!
I prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] when compared with [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but with the mn [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I prefer [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]!
Sadie [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is so sweet! Both of your choices are lovely though. Also, absolutely feel free to skip if you’re not looking for suggestions, but I couldn’t help but think of [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]/Haddie when I read this–that feels to me like a perfect combination of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]’s sound with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]’s vintage nickname charm!
Definitely looking for suggestions if anyone feels like there are similar-feeling names that I may love! I just didn’t want to ask too many questions and overwhelm the thread, lol.
I love that you said this, because I’ve thought the same thing. Big brothers are Maddox and Jackson, but go by Max and Jack quite often, so she would likely be called Hattie/Haddie frequently.
Sadie is one of those names that I feel like fits with every person and every age, so she gets my vote!
Both are nice but I just adore the idea of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] “[name_f]Haddie[/name_f]” [name_f]Jane[/name_f] , so she gets my vote!
I like both! I think slightly prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. It’s a sweet classic name, and it’s well established. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is also sweet. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] has me preference mostly because I think [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] might sound similar to other Had-,[name_f]Hat[/name_f]-, and [name_m]Ad[/name_m]- names.
I personally prefer [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] because it’s more feminine, less trendy, and more distinctive in the sense that [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] sounds similar to many other names and spellings. I agree actually that [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] might sound slightly better with [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but in real life I use my first name only 99% of the time so when a real baby is involved I always vote for the first name I would rather use every day over the flow of the combo.
I absolutely love the idea of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] “[name_f]Haddie[/name_f]” [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is a lovely name as well, but with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] I definitely prefer [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and the nickname [name_f]Haddie[/name_f] is so cute!
I love the sweet, rugged [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]! [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is really cute
My favourite is [name_f]Sadie[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is a fun vintage name that feels pretty and upbeat. I picture a girl who is energetic, fun and playful with blonde bunches. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is such a sweet name!
Hadley [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] answer is biased because [name_u]Adley[/name_u] is my favorite girls name.
