I’m working on a story inspired by ATLA, in which the “benders” of the world are Stars (inspired by legends and constellations from various cultures, mainly the Zodiac) who come to live among humans; relationships between humans and Stars is a no-go, and one of the main characters is a hybrid. Which of these options do you prefer?
- “Sokka” is an heir of one of the royal water-bending houses, but his human blood diluted that power in his veins, leaving him unable to bend water, and unveiling a power that lay beneath: Poison.
- “Toph,” despite having a Star as a parent, was born blind, and she was used as an example blaspheming human-Star relations. Secretly, her blindness comes from disease in her Starry family tree.
