I am looking for honest opinions on the name [name_u]Harbor[/name_u]! This is a new, recent favorite of mine. I am still determining whether this is more of a GP for me or an actual name that I would use!

Is this a name that y’all would use or save it for a GP list?

Thoughts on potential middle names! I have been thinking about [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_u]James[/name_u], but nothing is really sticking out for me!

I quite like [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] with its lovely imagery, and definitely see it as usable. I think [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] would be just gorgeous, and I also think [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] & [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] (taking names from your signature) would be nice.

I can see the appeal of the name [name_u]Harbor[/name_u], word names are probably my favorite style of names but…

while I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of a beach harbor I’m thinking of the verb, to harbor. Like to harbor ones feelings, usually meant in a negative way. That’s the only reason I would advise against it being anything but a gp.

Maybe [name_u]Haven[/name_u]? When I think of [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] the name [name_u]Haven[/name_u] isn’t far off, both nouns are safe places and both can be used for synonyms for one another.

Either way if the verb, to harbor, doesn’t bother you then go for it. ”

Thanks for your reply! I didn’t even think about the verb to harbor. I definitely saw it being more beachy related than holding back one’s feelings! Thanks for the insight!

I like [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] though I also thought of the verb before the noun. It seems a bit more masculine to me, maybe because of nickname [name_m]Harry[/name_m]/[name_f]Harrie[/name_f]? Nevertheless, I think it’s usable and [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] is sleek and pretty! [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] has too many r’s for my tastes and [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] is already masculine enough without a middle like [name_u]James[/name_u]. Good luck!

I prefer it on a boy. I think of a harbor as a safe place, where one is protected and can find shelter.
