Harper Kate and Scarlett Leigh?

Hello! WDYT about these names for our expecting twins? We want to honor our mothers ([name]Kate[/name] and [name]Leigh[/name]) but feel these names may be a little choppy with our one-syllable last name.

Thanks for any input : )

I like them, but i would advise doing a 3 syllable middle so your girls could have a 2-3-1 combo.
[name]How[/name] about something that still honors those people, but gives them their own names?
i.e.
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Auralee[/name] ([name]Leigh[/name] and [name]Auralee[/name] both have the meaning of ‘meadow’)

I like them both, i think they world well as a pair for twins (not matchy-matchy but the same feel), and don’t worry about the middle name: i’m making up last names for you in my head to try the syllable setup, and i think it’s fine. i think the fact that you’re able to honor both of your mothers easily without fiddling with their names to make them palatable is awesome, and not something to bother messing with, especially for mn’s.

I like [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Leigh[/name] but I’m not too crazy about the trendy [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] for twins (HAR and SCAR?). I just don’t find the names very appealing. But if you love them, that’s all that matters.

I immediately thought [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lee[/name] and [name]Katie[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] when I saw these names. What’s more, [name]Vivien[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] plays [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name] in Gone With the Wind. Those aren’t bad associations, but I wanted to point it out. The double “ar” in [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] sounds harsh. I think of pirates.

Are you opposed to [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Leigh[/name]? I think [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Harper[/name] sounds better than [name]Harper[/name] [name]Kate[/name] with a one syllable last name, and [name]Charlotte[/name] gets rid of the [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name]/[name]Vivien[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] thing.

I’m usually not a fan of [name]Harper[/name] but I like these two names together. They’re very cute and spunky.

At first glance, I loved these names together. But saying them, [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name], I agree with previous poster, too much “arrrrr.” I really love both of these names though. [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] is nice.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Harper[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] but dislike [name]Leigh[/name].

[name]LOVE[/name] both of them!!

[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] is all “Gone with the Wind” to me, but I like it. Strong but good connotation.

I like them and wouldnt worry about the mn choppiness, since you prob won’t call them by all three names very often. My only concern would be, like another poster said, the Har-Scar thing. We have two sets of twins in my fam, and ppl tend to shorten their names when they talk about them to [name]Meg[/name] and [name]Mal[/name] ([name]Megan[/name] and [name]Mallory[/name]), and the other set is known as The K’s ([name]Kandace[/name] and [name]Kayleigh[/name]). Idk why this happens, but their friends do it too, and if it were me, I’d be afraid ppl might call them Har-Scar for short, but maybe that’s just my own paranoia!

I think [name]Harper[/name] [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] work really well together! [name]Both[/name] literary favorites that are very in style, but not too popular yet. I don’t think the flow would be too bad. I know several kids who have 2-1-1 flow (or 3-1-1 or 4-1-1) like [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Mae[/name] [name]Jones[/name] or [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Lou[/name] [name]Zane[/name] or [name]Parker[/name] [name]John[/name] [name]Smith[/name], and it works for them. I agree, though, that if you want to lengthen them, the 2-3-1 syllable flow is a great way to go. [name]Harper[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Annaleigh[/name] or [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Aurelie[/name] (has the “lee” sound–or even [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]?) would work.

Good luck!

I think [name]Harper[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is adorable!—[name]Harper[/name] [name]Kate[/name] Blank–

[name]Scarlett[/name] is pretty, as is [name]Leigh[/name]—a lot of ‘L’ sound there (lett-[name]Lee[/name])

Its all overcomable (?) and in the long run the names will be beautiful and all this pickiness wont even matter because they will have the exact name they were supposed to have.

If you love [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name], thats all you need…

Good luck, theyre beautiful names.

I thought the same thing as souther.maple, especially the [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name]/[name]Vivien[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] thing.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
