I have a soft spot for [name]Harriet[/name] nn [name]Hattie[/name], but [name]Louisa[/name] nn [name]Lulu[/name] is my favorite. All of them go well with Woods, so I think you win with whatever name you ultimately pick. :]
[name]Birdie[/name] is a stretch, but I think it could work. The nickname [name]Birdie[/name] is adorable!
While [name]Birdie[/name] is a bit of a stretch I don’t like nn’s have to be from the given name so it’s fine, [name]Birdie[/name] is an adorable name! My favorite out of the three has to be [name]Louisa[/name] nn [name]Lu[/name]-[name]Lu[/name], both names are absolutely gorgoeus. All of your options go with your last name though.
I voted for [name]Harriet[/name], nn [name]Hattie[/name]. It’s a favourite of mine, but I think it sounds gorgeous with your surname. My next choice would’ve been [name]Beatrice[/name], nn [name]Birdie[/name], but I thought that it sounded cutesy with your surname because they both have nature connotations.
Great choices - and congratulations!! xx
Good luck and congratulations! I voted for [name]Harriet[/name] nn [name]Hattie[/name] as it’s also a favourite of mine, although I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these choices. I adore the nickname [name]Birdie[/name] and have heard that it’s a ‘traditional’ nickname for both [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name].
While I love the nn [name]Hattie[/name], I feel that [name]Louisa[/name] sounds infinity times better with your last name. If [name]Beatrice[/name] is what you and your husband love, then Go for it! I’m still on the fence about [name]Birdie[/name], kind of a stretch… Another idea is to put a B in the middle and then you could use the nn B.B.just an idea
I like [name]Beatrice[/name] best -it has the best meaning of the 3 names you’ve selected. [name]Birdie[/name] is a very cute nickname. From experience though, I must say that you may very well come up with a whole slough of nicknames for your daughter just by looking at her after she is born. I never thought I’d be calling my baby [name]Buddy[/name], but that’s what keeps coming out of my mouth when I speak to him. Of course, I won’t be introducing him as [name]Buddy[/name] and he is known by his full name and his “official” nickname… but I still call him [name]Buddy[/name] and Mr. Mouse more often than not!!! You might come up with some interesting and usable nicknames when you are first introduced to your precious little bundle.
If we just went with first names, [name]Beatrice[/name] is my favorite…but I don’t like the nn [name]Birdie[/name], and I agree that [name]Birdie[/name] Woods seems a little too nature-y. So I went with [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Lulu[/name] which I love all the way around. [name]Harriet[/name] is nms.
I think [name]Harriet[/name] “[name]Hattie[/name]” Woods flows the best. [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] are lovely but with Woods there is a repetitive “s” sound that is a little lispy.
I voted for [name]Louisa[/name]–one of my favorites. I love [name]Beatrice[/name]- but prefer [name]Betsy[/name] as a nn over [name]Birdie[/name]. Good luck!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] Woods nn [name]Hattie[/name]! Adorable. I do think [name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Birdie[/name] could work, although I admit, I prefer [name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Tess[/name].
Good luck!
[name]Birdie[/name] is adorable, although it is a bit of a stretch. I recently read “Divergent”(awesome book by the way) and the main character is Beatric nn [name]Tris[/name] which I love. Anyways, I voted for [name]Beatrice[/name], but you really can’t fo wrong!
Lousia got my vote but [name]Harriet[/name] was a very close second. I absolutely love the nn [name]Hattie[/name]
Everyone is giving such great feedback! It’s interesting to see that the poll is so close between all three names! I agree that [name]Beatrice[/name] definitely does have the best meaning. And it’s a good point that [name]Birdie[/name] Woods is very nature-y, but it didn’t occur to me or dh or my mom in that way so i think if it was TOO cutesy for that reason it would have occurred to us immediately. [name]Louisa[/name] is beautiful but I think [name]Lu[/name]-[name]Lu[/name] is my least favorite of the three nicknames. I feel like it’s a less “official” nickname than the other two…as in, I probably wouldn’t introduce her as [name]Lu[/name]-[name]Lu[/name] to people, but would use the nicknames to introduce a [name]Birdie[/name] or [name]Hattie[/name].
Our boy name is [name]Theodore[/name], nn [name]Theo[/name] (we don’t know gender of this baby). Which of the three names would make the best sibset for [name]Theo[/name]?
Thanks
Also, is anyone else scared of [name]Hattie[/name] because [name]Tori[/name] spelling named her daughter this? [name]Just[/name] worried it’s going to jump the charts.
(Her other kids names are [name]Liam[/name], [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Finn[/name])
I agree that [name]Birdie[/name] Woods sounds a tad weird. For this reason, I voted for [name]Hattie[/name].
Lousia got my vote! I think [name]Birdie[/name] works as a nickname for [name]Beatrice[/name] just fine.
I have to vote for [name]Louisa[/name] - [name]LuLu[/name]!
[name]Harriet[/name] is my favourite of all the names, and I love [name]Hattie[/name].
I love all three names, but if forced to choose, it’s [name]Harriet[/name]/[name]Hattie[/name] for me. It sounds perfect with your last name and is also the most versatile of the nicknames in my opinion. I can see a girl introducing herself as [name]Hattie[/name] in any setting whereas [name]Birdie[/name] and [name]Lulu[/name] are more informal and might be used more in pet form.
