If our last name didn’t start with “man” I would be using [name]Harriet[/name]! My DH’s grandmother’s name is [name]Harriet[/name] and it makes me so sad that we can’t honor her with a little [name]Harriet[/name]. I just know she’d be called Hairy [name]Man[/name] though. Please use it! It’s a wonderful name.
I think it’s ugly, masculaine name. I never understand why people thinks it’s nice.
It reminds me of that book “[name]Harriet[/name] the Spy”. I think you’d be well advised to push for a nn like [name]Etta[/name] or [name]Hattie[/name] instead of [name]Harry[/name] but I love [name]Harriet[/name] and [name]Henrietta[/name] - use it.
i don’t like [name]Harriet[/name], i [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]. i was very dissappointed to find out how popular is was in the UK considering I live in [name]Ireland[/name], hopefully by the time I am choosing a name it wont be as popular!
I’m not big on nicknames, but I do quite like the idea of [name]Etta[/name].
I knew a girl named [name]Harriet[/name] growing up and I always felt bad for her for having what I considered to be such an ugly name. I like it a little more now that I’m an adult, but not much more. But then again I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Agatha[/name] and everyone else seems to think it’s gross so it’s a matter of opinion I guess. I do think a cute nn like [name]Hattie[/name] or [name]Etta[/name] would help but I don’t think I’ll ever be a fan.
I absolutely love it.
Definitely a favorite of mine.
I love it ! It’s a spunky and sweet name. I also love the nn [name]Hattie[/name].
It’s a new favorite of mine…but I dislike variation [name]Henrietta[/name]…
I like it with [name]Hallie[/name] or [name]Ettie[/name] as nicknames.
I feel like [name]Harriet[/name] is one of those names you either love or hate. Unfortunately, I’m on the hate side. I find it dowdy, dated, and masculine. Also, you have to take into account the nature of children. Children can be very mean. That being said, you’re just making the taunts 10x easier for her peers. [name]Harriet[/name], really? The “hairy” connotation is unavoidable.
I would find another name or just use one of [name]Harriet[/name]'s nns. [name]Hattie[/name] is adorable.
Thanks everyone!
