[name]Every[/name] once in a while I come across this name and actually like it, although I don’t know if I love it. Our family is also pretty big on nn, is there a feminine nn for [name]Harriet[/name], i.e not [name]Harry[/name]…
[name]Hattie[/name] . . . Which I absolutely adore. And I’ve heard [name]Ettie[/name]. Also sweet. But [name]Hattie[/name] would be my choice.
[name]Hattie[/name] is the traditional go-to nickname. I think [name]Etta[/name] and [name]Ettie[/name] work, too, though. You might even be able to get away with [name]Hen[/name], since [name]Henrietta[/name] is [name]Harriet[/name]'s cousin.
I love [name]Etta[/name] in fact I have considered this name for the name [name]Henrietta[/name]…love it.
Yay [name]Harriet[/name]! I was just about to start a thread on this name. It’s top choice for baby numero uno should we have a girl. [name]Hattie[/name] is the stinkin cutest name. Now just need a middle name that starts with A (to honor a Grandma [name]Etta[/name]).
I love [name]Harriet[/name], and the nn [name]Hattie[/name]'s adorable. Classic and underused.
It is growing on me. I like the vintage spunk - and am a little wary of hairy/[name]Harry[/name]. So mixed feelings. Besides [name]Hattie[/name], [name]Ettie[/name], and [name]Etta[/name], I have seen [name]Hatsy[/name] recently mentioned, which I find adorable. Also could see [name]Ari[/name].
I absolutely love [name]Harriet[/name] and think [name]Hattie[/name] is just about the cutest nn ever. I think [name]Etta[/name] works well with [name]Harriet[/name], too - with both of those nicknames and the uniqueness of [name]Harriet[/name] I think it’s a wonderful name. If only my husband agreed…
[name]Love[/name] it!! It’s on the top of MY list for our baby girl due in a couple of months. [name]Just[/name] have to convince Daddy…lol. And think of a middle name that flows, to honour Grandma [name]Suzanne[/name] or Great-Grandma [name]Winifred[/name] I think that [name]Hattie[/name] is a really cute, “girly” nn, but then the more masculine options like [name]Harry[/name], are good if she turns out to be a bit tomboyish
I agree that [name]Hattie[/name] is a common nn for [name]Harriet[/name]. I think [name]Ettie[/name]/[name]Etta[/name] and [name]Ari[/name] could also work. I like [name]Harriet[/name], especially for someone else’s child, but I don’t love it, personally.
