People are using the name for a girl (e.g. [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name]), but the name is NMS to begin with (although I much prefer it for a boy).
[name]Haven[/name]'t heard that one yet on a girl, but I’m sure it’s out there. I’m just not a fan of boys names on girls except for [name]Dylan[/name] which I think is super cute for some reason.
Yes, [name]Evan[/name] is a name I would consider for a girl. [name]John[/name] and its variants are very prevalent in my family. There is a actress names [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name]. Though when using a name that is traditionally male like that for a girl it needs to be balanced with a traditionally feminine name like [name]Rachel[/name] or [name]Catherine[/name] in the number two spot in my opinion.
[name]Just[/name] [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name], the actress…I’m not into [name]Evan[/name] on a girl but at least she’ll have a talented & pretty namesake.
The first person I ever knew named [name]Evan[/name] was female. Since, I have met countless male [name]Evans[/name]. Definitly consider it to be more male, but wouldn’t think twice to hear it used on a little girl.
I know a girl named [name]Evan[/name] (who has an older sister named [name]Ryan[/name]), and I have a male cousin called [name]Evan[/name]. I personally prefer it as a boy’s name.
I really like the name [name]Evan[/name] for a girl, so long as the middle name is obviously feminine. [name]Evan[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] is a favorite of mine.
I’ve seen it often online and only once [name]IRL[/name].
I’d advise anyone calling their girl the Welsh form of [name]John[/name], to perhaps give a less ‘androgynous’ middle name - it may be less annoying that way.
I will say that [name]Evan[/name]/[name]John[/name] certainly works with [name]Quinn[/name]/Cuinn.
I have heard it on a girl, via [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name]. I much prefer [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Evan[/name], personally, if it’s going to be used. That way she’d have a feminine full name to fall back on. Or even [name]Evening[/name] nn [name]Evan[/name].
Years ago, before I was a [name]Berry[/name], I loved the idea of [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Evyn[/name] on a girl. bahaha. It’d never use that, anymore, but I don’t see the problem with [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Evan[/name]. It’s just like [name]Samantha[/name] nn [name]Sam[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]. Somehow, when it’s the nn and not the full name, it seems more okay to me, haha.
In general, though, I’m a huge fan of [name]Evan[/name] for a boy.
[name]Evan[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] for sisters? I would assume they were boys since they are male names.
I do not like them at all. I like [name]Evan[/name] as a nickname only for [name]Evangeline[/name], but that’s as far as it goes.
I know of an [name]Evanne[/name], but it is pronounced like [name]Evan[/name]. I really liked it…makes it separate from the boy name and seems more feminine.
Not a fan of [name]Evan[/name] for a girl, but I’ve heard of [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name] … so at least it’s legit
I’m not a fan but the only reason I’m okay with it at all is because of [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name]. If I saw [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name], I would assume it was either 2 brothers or a brother and a sister ([name]Quinn[/name] being the girl).
There’s an [name]Eavan[/name] at my daycare, pronounced the same as [name]Evan[/name], and she’s a girl and as bad as it makes me feel to admit it, her teacher has been caught making fun of her name to the other teachers. It’s awful, but true. She’s very cute though, and I don’t mind it too much.
It’s very rare, and most people would assume she is a boy. It is the Welsh form of [name]John[/name]. I would choose [name]Eva[/name] or [name]Evangeline[/name] for a girl!
I assume boy when I see [name]Evan[/name]. But girl doesn’t shock me and I can see it growing somewhat. Besides [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] wood, [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name] are very popular right now, and [name]Eve[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Avery[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Ever[/name], [name]Everly[/name] are all trending and while they have less overlap, I’m sure they’re influencing [name]Evan[/name]. I feel like I’ve seen people considering [name]Everett[/name] for a girl on here occasionally, and I know it’s all related.
[name]Just[/name] because [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Wood[/name]'s name is [name]Evan[/name] doesn’t make it a legit girls name. [name]Just[/name] throwing that out there. To me [name]Evan[/name] is a masculine name if I meet a female [name]Evan[/name] I’d be tempted to ask her if her parents really wanted a boy. [name]Quinn[/name] to me is unisex but [name]Evan[/name] just isn’t.
[name]Evan[/name] is ALL BOY to me. that is my ds name [name]Evan[/name] and I would definitely not name a girl that. [name]Just[/name] too many other gorgeous girl names to choose from. save the great boy names for the little guys - imho…!!
This.
I still think of [name]Evan[/name] as a boys name and probably always will, but I also love the idea of something like [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Evan[/name] or even [name]Evelyn[/name] nn [name]Evan[/name]. I love girls names with more tomboyish nicknames, like with [name]Samantha[/name]/[name]Charlotte[/name], or [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] nn [name]Alex[/name].
I think with Glee,I am definitely starting to see [name]Quinn[/name] as a girls name, but [name]Evan[/name] is still all boy to me.
I have heard it a little girl once. However I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it!! If I were to use it, I would use it as a nickname for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or Evangelize but nonetheless, I love it. I think [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] are very cute.
