[name_f]My[/name_f] lists have felt complete before, but it has never lasted. I had a long time where my names didn’t change, but I get restless and change it, find new loves and get bored with some. Maybe when I actually have kids I will finally finish it.
When I was younger and made lists just for fun, I was always searching for more names. It was a project I didn’t intend to complete, so no it never felt finished.
Now that I’m married and actually having children, I don’t really keep a list like I used to. At least, there are very different rules now. There are tons of names I find appealing obviously, but the only ones that matter are the ones we might actually use. When we were expecting our first, we had one boy option and one girl option and our list was complete. We’re trying for a second baby now, so the list is in progress again.
I don’t know what will happen as far as names and lists are concerned once our family is complete. I guess I’ll probably move on the naming pets or something.
[name_f]Every[/name_f] few years I’ll have come to see a couple names as “my names” for a future child, so when a couple combos happen at the same time, I do get that feeling of completion. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I’m with someone who is very open-minded about names, he doesn’t like my more recent absolute favourites ([name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], [name_f]Leonor[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] sigh).
I still hold on to a few combos past that really resonated with me, particularly: [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] & [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] SO and I are experimenting now, and it’s fun to see what we agree on, but it may take a while for some of our joint options to really settle in with me.
