My husband and I are having a hard time choosing a name for our baby girl. We live in a small town where everybody knows everybody and would prefer not to use a name that’s already in use by our friends/relatives/frequent acquaintances. We like names that are not common, but nothing too unusual. Names we have liked but won’t work for us: [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Darcy[/name_u].
We both really like the name [name_u]Lux[/name_u], but I am unsure of the flow with our last name. Last name starts with S, pronounced similar to [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]. The x at the end of [name_u]Lux[/name_u] blends right into the S of our last name when spoken aloud. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband doesn’t think thats an issue at all, but I would like some other input. Any thoughts or suggestions? We also have a little boy named [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]
I don’t think it’s really a problem if you love the name. Maybe [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] “[name_u]Lux[/name_u]” or [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] “[name_u]Lux[/name_u]”, so she has options if it does create a problem… [name_u]Lucky[/name_u] could be a cute nn too.
I do think if you love the name, it won’t be a problem, but if you’re not sure it’s the right name by itself, [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_u]Lux[/name_u] is a lovely suggestion.
If you like [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_u]Lux[/name_u] you might like these:
