Dh and I are having boy and girl twins! We’ve sorta settled on our baby boy’s name: [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] for my mother and grandfather, and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] to honor my brother [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. Still deciding between [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] and [name_m]Xander[/name_m], suggestions on other ways to honor, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]?
As for the girl’s name, we have no clue! There are a few names that we like, and we would love to stick to the two middle name tradition! Our last name is Bisset.
Names we like:
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] (love)
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] (like-but will consider a different name)
[name_f]Amina[/name_f]
[name_m]Jos[/name_m]éphine (love)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] (grandmother’s mn)
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_m]Ad[/name_m]élaïde (love)
[name_u]Jessie[/name_u]
Etc.
Think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] too close to [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] for firsts (they have [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] in them), and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] might be tricky with nn’s eg [name_f]Bea[/name_f] and [name_u]Leigh[/name_u], [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and Mi, [name_u]Lou[/name_u] and [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] - unless you intend for that. [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] means hard to tell who is boy and who is girl so I’ve ditched it. [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] to me suits something more beachy and low key like [name_u]Lee[/name_u] not [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] plus two elegant middles.
I’d use [name_m]Xander[/name_m] not [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] to honour [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or else [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] or [name_m]Alec[/name_m] etc as below.
Oh my god I had the most longwinded response and I had it all typed up but then I hit a wrong button and it’s gone. So lemme sort of try to condense what I was gonna say:
Any name containing an L seems to steal [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]'s name’s thunder. It’s just too short and simple and concise of a name. If that makes any sense to you, too, I’ve just wiped out half your list. I’m also battling this issue with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] on my list as a name I really love, but I feel like it’ll prevent me from using names like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] in the future, which I also love. It’s a tricky name when you overthink things like this.
Names ending in -ee type noises without any L sound seems strong and nice to the ear, to me. So [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] are contenders, but like a poster before me mentioned, [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] makes it harder to tell who is the boy and who is the girl.
Also, I’ve picked up on the fact that you’re just gonna have to call for the boy first when you’re trying to get both of their attention. The reverse way, you start concocting very trendy names. Like the mouthful Naomileigh or, twelve times as gagworthy, Kaialeigh.
And I keep wanting to suggest [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] to you, and I don’t quite know why. It’s got an old lady, spunky combo feel that [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] sorta matches in a way, I guess.
Anyway, I’m sure I was of no help. Thanks for reading my disjointed rambling anyway.
Haha actually, it was very helpful! Thank you! [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] is beautiful, but I have a cousin named [name_u]Max[/name_u]. What do you think about the name [name_f]Camille[/name_f]?
