Our little girl’s due date is 7 weeks away. Until now, we thought we had settled on [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
However now I don’t know if I’m getting cold feet or what is the problem. I still like it, but wonder if it’s the right name for us.
We both like
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], but just haven’t been thinking about this one very long, so I’m also nervous to change it now. The downside to this is that our last name starts with a long A., and I also think “[name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]” is hard to say, but I guess you get used to that, and that part wouldn’t be a big deal.
My husband likes [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], but I’m not sure.
You don’t seem to have found a name you both really love, so maybe a few more ideas would help. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is a lovely name and works great with [name_u]James[/name_u], imo. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is great too, but if you feel like it won’t work with your surname it’s understandable you’re put off.
I wanted to suggest [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], because it’s similar to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], but has a different vibe to it and might be the perfect compromise between you and your SO. But I can’t decide if I like it with the middle name [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
I like both [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (OK, you’re right, “and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]” is hard to say, but many moms of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] have figured it out I guess!). I slightly prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] since it sounds a bit more classic to me. If you want other options, I’ll suggest [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. I really like the [name_f]Joy[/name_f] middle name. I don’t think it would hurt to have a few first options and see what you like when she gets here.
If you like [name_f]Leah[/name_f] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f], how about [name_f]Liana[/name_f] (lee-ah-na) or [name_f]Leanna[/name_f] (lee-an-na). Or perhaps [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] as well. You could use [name_f]Leah[/name_f]/[name_f]Lea[/name_f]/[name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_u]Lee[/name_u] or [name_f]Ana[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f] as nicknames? I think either would fit wonderfully with [name_u]James[/name_u].
I know the feeling! I’m 7 weeks out too and our number one name seems like it’s getting too popular now and we’re second guessing our choice.
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] have very different vibes to me. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] seems a lot more modern and fun for a little girl. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] sounds like an adult name. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] would be cute!
I also like the suggestions of [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
