Maybe I am crazy but I think [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] sound perfect. Normally I wouldn’t like the double S but I think [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] is long enough that they don’t run together. I also think [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] are not too close to be siblings.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is like the sky in [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. This just means the sky in [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] to [name_u]Eden[/name_u] by quite a bit, but [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is not awful by any means.
I personally like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and I’m not put off by the garden of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] reference, but if you don’t like it now then it’s unlikely you will change your mind as she grows older.
I think [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] are a bit matchy for sisters because of the similar meaning (both are terrain types) but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] are all lovely in my opinion and go nicely with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. Or you could use [name_u]Skye[/name_u] as a FN?
Ohh… I do like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] as the pp suggested. Not to muddy the waters further… but have you considered [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]?
The “wordiness” of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] bothers me a bit, same as in [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] would go wonderfully with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], and I really like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] as well. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] seem very common in comparison, although they are nice names.
I personally like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u], but if you aren’t sure or do not like it, it is better to change it now rather than later.
From you list I do like:
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
These are normal feelings after naming a child. You are over analyzing it! There is nothing wrong with the name [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. Maybe change the mn? I think paired with [name_u]Skye[/name_u] it could be interpreted as more religious.
If you regret it now you’ll likely hate it later (ever talked yourself into buying a piece of clothing only to never remove the tags?). I think [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is a nice name and I also think that people basically never hear or interact with a person’s middle name after their first birthday, so I believe you should focus way more on first last combinations than first middle combinations. Having said all of that, from your list I would choose [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I think it goes nicely with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. But you’re the one making the decision. I always tell my pregnant friends that they should go with their gut. If there is a name on this list that you really gravitate toward, go with that. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t talk yourself out of it because it’s too popular or for some other reason that is ultimately not that important. Ask yourself, “if I was forced to choose right this minute, which name would I go with?” The answer to that question is usually fairly consistent and wins out in the end.
I was on the isle of skye just last week end, and it was so beautiful that I though about using it as a name. I have to warn you that ayla sounds like isla which mean island in Spanish, so ayla skye could be interpreted as isle of skye. not sure you wanted that. same with layla.
violet skye also sounds like violet sky.
with sienna I personally like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] sounds amazing. otherwise sienna and [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] sound very nice together. [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] skye is great.
I don’t like sienna with savannah, too matchy.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is very hippy dippy compared to sienna lily, but I still like it.
my suggestion would be [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or [name_f]Arielle[/name_f].
My cousin’s name is [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and she has gotten nothing BUT compliments on it her whole life. The whole “garden of [name_u]Eden[/name_u]” thing doesn’t really spring up that much, but the same people who make that reference will make a reference about any name that has a different connotation. If you really can’t get over it, then perhaps it’s best to change it now before she’s old enough to know the difference.
My only thing is, you obviously chose [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for a reason. What were those reasons? You’ve provided quite a big list of alternatives, but it doesn’t seem like you have any one particular in mind. I could see wanting to change her name because you feel like you chose the wrong one and already have something else in mind (like if it were down to two, but now you feel you should have chosen the other one), but this feels more like you’re just not “panicking” about [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and are just looking to choose any other name. Honestly, I think perhaps the middle name [name_u]Skye[/name_u], is what’s throwing off this combo, as well as some of your other suggestions. [name_m]How[/name_m] married are you to [name_u]Skye[/name_u]?
Yes! [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] are my favorites with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f].
I would definitely avoid another color name like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] feel like a different style.
My favorite is [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. But I also agree that if you’re really uncomfortable, change it now rather than later. BUT I also think you should be sure what you want to change it to because you don’t want to make another ambivalent choice!
My favorites on your list are [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Arielle[/name_f]. But yeah, [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] will hear, Like [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]? And [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] will hear, Like The [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid? The color names don’t work and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] is too similar, imo.
I personally love the name [name_u]Eden[/name_u]! I used to babysit a girl named [name_u]Eden[/name_u] during church and she never got “Garden of [name_u]Eden[/name_u]”. She did get E or [name_f]Edee[/name_f]. There’s plenty of names that are way more common that are religious names. Look at the name [name_m]John[/name_m] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Any name, though, will come with some short of nickname or some type of association. For example, I love Juilet, but it too will be associated with the name [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] or even [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]. As well as the name [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go with your gut. You’ve selected all beautiful names, just like your baby girl. I guess, ask yourself, is Garden of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] all that bad? I think it’s adorable, actually. But like I said, go with what feels right to you! You obviously chose [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] for a reason. [name_m]Just[/name_m] take your time! Good luck!
If you’re having doubts now, they are unlikely to go away when she gets older. I would suggest changing it now while you’re still in that window where it’s not super unusual to do so.
I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. I agree with everyone else that you should probably avoid pairing word names.
You ladies are amazing! Thank you so much for all the assistance, really, we would be lost without you!
With your help we have narrowed it down to either keeping [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] or going with [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. If you could give me your opinion on those two it would be greatly appreciated!
I started a new poll here to make it easier:
Thanks again so very much for ALL of your thoughtful responses!
