I think you should stick with [name]Giselle[/name]. It has 7 letters which does match up with [name]Milla[/name] in a way of not matching everyone else. And it has that cute nickname (my [name]Gigi[/name] is a nickname too, but my name is [name]Jane[/name]), and the girl names don’t have to be matchy matchy. [name]Giselle[/name] could also go by [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Katya[/name] might go by [name]Kat[/name] instead of [name]Kitty[/name]. I think you just go for names that have pretty nicknames, and both [name]Giselle[/name] and [name]Katya[/name] offer that. But I think your first love fits in best and doesn’t sound like the others.
[name]Katya[/name] [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Skye[/name]
I prefer [name]Katya[/name] [name]Skye[/name] but [name]Katya[/name] [name]Eve[/name] is very pretty as well. I would prefer [name]Katia[/name] over [name]Katya[/name]. I looks better combined with [name]Skye[/name]: [name]Katia[/name] [name]Skye[/name]. Not too many Ys in there.
I dislike [name]Giselle[/name]. I think of a gazelle. I like gazelles but I can only imagine a [name]Giselle[/name] as being very skinny and beautiful. I can’t imagine a tomboy [name]Giselle[/name], for example. I always thought [name]Imogen[/name] was ugly. No offense.
Oh and don’t worry about her name going with the names of your other kids. I mean you shouldn’t name her [name]Cilla[/name] as you already have a [name]Milla[/name] but I think it’s a little ridiculous to make sure all of your names have the same amount of letters/syllables and end in the same letter. They are individuals!
Interesting…more people leaning towards [name]Giselle[/name] over [name]Katya[/name]. Please keep the feedback coming…another possible name is [name]Kiara[/name] nn [name]Kitty[/name]. Thoughts???
I think [name]Giselle[/name] is perfect with [name]Saskia[/name] and [name]Milla[/name], and I think it’s great that it doesn’t ‘fit’ with [name]Saskia[/name] - you will not have a pattern you’ll feel obliged to follow, and [name]Milla[/name] will not be left out. [name]Giselle[/name] [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Giselle[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] is gorgeous, and I much prefer it over [name]Katya[/name] or [name]Kiara[/name]. Maybe [name]Giselle[/name] could be [name]Izzy[/name], for a tomboy, or [name]Ellie[/name], for a girly girl? Good luck:)
[name]Do[/name] other people agree, am I over thinking this, should I deliberately avoid 6 letter name?
I personally wouldn’t avoid or choose a name for its number of letters; you’re probably the only one who’ll be counting them. If your gut says go with a name that doesn’t tick all the boxes, I wouldn’t shove those feelings aside to go with a name that meets the criteria but has to grow on you. Instead, I think the bigger picture “wants” for the name matter most, like the European and feminine feel. (As a side note, I think it’s nice that [name]Milla[/name] keeps two-syllable [name]Andrew[/name] company!)
I think [name]Giselle[/name] sounds perfect with [name]Saskia[/name] and [name]Milla[/name]: it’s European, rare, romantic, soft but with a zesty Z sound. The S and the L sounds tie her name to her sisters, but she’d have two distinct sounds of her own, too (G, Z). Sassy, [name]Milly[/name], and [name]Ellie[/name] more or less meet the double-letter and “y” sound (if not the letter) requirement, but Sassy, [name]Milla[/name], and [name]Gigi[/name] when said out loud have pretty similar qualities, too. I like that these names are stair-steps in letters, if you are going to count: 5, 6, 7
I do find [name]Katya[/name] a bit too close to [name]Saskia[/name] (and rather gutteral and harsh in sound). I know [name]Kiara[/name] is actually a name with plenty of historical roots, but it feels very K-name trendy compared to her sisters. [name]Imogen[/name] would get my 2nd choice vote, but [name]Giselle[/name] gets my love! Best wishes.
What about [name]Gisela[/name] instead of [name]Giselle[/name]?
Have considered [name]Gisela[/name] but think [name]Giselle[/name] is prettier. No other 5,6,7 letter names ending in a that can be shortened to a double letter y nick name???
Not sure how many of these match the style of [name]Saskia[/name] and [name]Milla[/name], but here are a few…
[name]Winona[/name] or [name]Winola[/name] - [name]Winny[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name] - [name]Tibby[/name] or [name]Tabby[/name]
[name]Talitha[/name] - [name]Tally[/name]
[name]Katrina[/name] - [name]Kitty[/name]
[name]Teresa[/name], [name]Theresa[/name], or [name]Tereza[/name] - [name]Tessy[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name] - [name]Linny[/name]
[name]Rosalba[/name] or [name]Saloma[/name] - [name]Sally[/name]
[name]Ursula[/name] - [name]Sully[/name]
[name]Regina[/name] or [name]Ginevra[/name] - [name]Ginny[/name]
[name]Sonja[/name] or [name]Susanna[/name] - [name]Sunny[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name] - [name]Polly[/name]? (it’s an unusual stretch, but I think it could fit!)
Oooh what about [name]Eliza[/name]? It’s 5 letters like [name]Milla[/name] and can be shorted to [name]Lizzy[/name].
[name]Saskia[/name], [name]Milla[/name], and [name]Eliza[/name] … i like it!
Otherwise I really love [name]Katya[/name] nn [name]Kitty[/name] with your others. [name]Even[/name] better than [name]Giselle[/name] which is French whereas [name]Saskia[/name] & [name]Milla[/name] are much more Germanic, as is [name]Katya[/name].
ok I understand what you are saying but all those reasons you have regrets for names are because your kids are still kids…we are adults a LOT longer than we are kids so as they grow and (if) your family expands those reasons will drop off…
Personally I think [name]Giselle[/name] is freaking great! and [name]Gigi[/name]! that is sooooo cute! Plus she has 7 letters so now all your girls are different!
[name]Kitty[/name] brings up thoughts of cats (which sounds very prissy and bleck) I love [name]Gigi[/name]…
go for it!
I really disliike [name]Gisele[/name]…it reminds me of gazelle also and the beginning sounds really grosses me out…[name]Imogen[/name] is also an ugly sounding name to me
I’m not trying to be rude by saying this just honest your other girls names are really nice…[name]Katia[/name] is a beautiful name and does sound very european …I think it is much more pretty sounding then the other ones.
I vote [name]Katia[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
