Hello, Everyone. I love Nameberry. That said, I am NOT able to find a name my husband and I agree on! I love [name]Finley[/name], and he’s absolutely against it. Our last name is [name]Flannery[/name], and he says [name]Finley[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] is ridiculous.
The name we both like is [name]Kieran[/name], but the more I think of it, the less I really like it. We already have an [name]Ethan[/name] and a [name]Mark[/name]. As you can see, we like something somewhat “normal” but not super popular. We named [name]Ethan[/name] at the beginning of 2003, BEFORE it was top 10, thinking it was really nice and not that popular. fail. We love his name, but its been in the top 10 since 2003. [name]Mark[/name]'s name was just something we liked. And [name]Ethan[/name] could say it as a 2 year old, which was charming.
My current list looks like this:
[name]Willard[/name] ([name]Will[/name])
[name]Kieran[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]
Breckon
[name]Henley[/name]
Most of these are not in agreement by said stubborn husband. I am looking for a name that is no more popular than maybe top 100. I’m not looking for anything really out there, like [name]Zebulun[/name], [name]Lorenzo[/name], [name]River[/name], etc. My husband says, “no hippie names,” and that pretty much includes any nature or color names as well. We don’t really like occupation names like [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Miller[/name], [name]Cooper[/name].
The name we choose HAS TO sound good with [name]Flannery[/name]. Help please? I want to be IN [name]LOVE[/name] with the name of this child, I don’t want to settle. thanks, all!
If [name]Kieran[/name] is not quite fitting the bill, what about…
[name]Calvin[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Karson[/name]
[name]Kenton[/name]
Other names your list remind me of…
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]
Here’s some ideas…
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Aidan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Brogan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Curtis[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Connor[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Dylan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Grayson[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Jude[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Logan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Austin[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] ([name]Love[/name]!!!)
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Spencer[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Samson[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] & [name]William[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
I must agree with your husband that [name]Finley[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] sounds a little silly!
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] &
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] &
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] &
[name]Ethan[/name], [name]Mark[/name] &
Sorry, [name]Finley[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] sounds silly. I don’t really like the sound of -ey and -ey, either, so I personally would rule out [name]Henley[/name], too. I don’t care for Breckon (it sounds choppy and a little made up). I like [name]Kieran[/name], though I think it seems rather distinctly Irish and modern compared with [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Mark[/name]. I think a little [name]Will[/name] would fit in the best with your troupe, whether as [name]Willard[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Willem[/name], [name]Wills[/name], etc. You might also consider (sorry for repeats):
[name]Tatum[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] ([name]Tate[/name])
[name]Colin[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Adam[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Joshua[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Winslow[/name] or [name]Winston[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] ([name]Win[/name])
[name]Holden[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Louis[/name] or [name]Lewis[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] ([name]Chris[/name] or [name]Topher[/name])
[name]Liam[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Silas[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]
I also like a lot of the suggestions from the poster above me.
When I hear his brother’s names, I automatically thought [name]Owen[/name]. [name]Mark[/name], [name]Ethan[/name], & [name]Owen[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]. However, my sister used to watch two brothers named [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Garrett[/name]. [name]Garrett[/name] [name]Flannery[/name]?
Willard (Will) - Ehh it’s ok
Kieran - Love it!
Finley - I agree, it does sound pretty ridiculous with your ln… sorry!
Breckon - Sounds made up
Henley - To me this is a kind of shirt… shrug
How about… (sorry if already mentioned)
Colin/Collin
Noah
Kevin
Brendan
Owen
Oliver
Ryan
Aidan
Gavin
Logan
Devin
Nolan
(ETA: hahaha totally just noticed they almost all end in an/en/in. Whoops!)
I think [name]Kieran[/name] sounds amazing with your other kids’ names and also with your last name! I also like [name]Willard[/name], but his nickname will sound like it’s from the super-popular (but nice) [name]William[/name]. If you don’t mind that, then I’d also vote for [name]Willard[/name]. Someone on here also wrote “[name]Colin[/name]” as a suggestion, which also sounds great with your last name and is familiar but not super-popular or trendy.
Thanks, everyone! Still looking for that perfect name. I guess I’m totally off with the [name]Finley[/name] [name]Flannery[/name] thing. Good to know its not just my husband being stubborn.
Keep em coming! Right now I’m liking [name]Will[/name] and [name]Kristofer[/name] a little bit. We can’t have anything that sounds too like [name]Ethan[/name], either, i.e. [name]Aidan[/name], [name]Owen[/name], etc.
this is hard!!! Thanks for your help!!
