Having trouble settling on one... ALL SO DIFFERENT! HELP!

We are having such a tough time settling on a girl’s name… The ones we have shortlisted are all so different. Hoping some help from you all might aid us in narrowing things down.

I’m a big fan of nicknames, as I have always been called by the shortened form of my own name. So, sometimes I suggest names [name_m]JUST[/name_m] because the nickname potential is there, or deny names [name_m]JUST[/name_m] because it’s not. (My husband wants to kill me…)

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
(I wanted a female version of [name_m]Martin[/name_m] to honour a family member… so we made this up… thoughts?)

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
([name_u]Love[/name_u] it! But how can we shorten [name_f]Ursa[/name_f]…?)

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
([name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of calling a little girl “[name_m]Tommy[/name_m]”)

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
(His grandmother is [name_u]Joan[/name_u], mine is [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]… say it out loud as you read it!)

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (no middle name yet… ideas?)
(I love [name_f]Indie[/name_f] as a nick name! [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] might work to achieve this as well)

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
(I love Wavy as a nick name… but [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] sometimes sounds snotty to me?)

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
([name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Connie[/name_u] AND [name_f]Constance[/name_f]… but would a kid hate to be called [name_f]Constance[/name_f]?)

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name)
(Dying to find a great way to get [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]… without [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]… My husband HATES [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], but likes [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!)

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
    ([name_u]Nick[/name_u] names?)

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
    ([name_u]Nick[/name_u] names?)

Hey there! You’ve got a lot of great name options that are really unique and I love that! My top three names are Mardyn, [name_f]Ursa[/name_f], and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]. But here are my opinions if they may help!

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
I feel like this name does a really good job of being a more feminine version of [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. Its unique and pretty! I like it a lot! You could maybe use [name_f]Marina[/name_f] as a close name to [name_m]Martin[/name_m] too?

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] but I’m not sure how you could shorten it any more than it is lol you could always have the nickname “bear” which is what [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] means or “Yuyu”

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
This is a name that I didn’t initially like when I had first heard it, but it’s growing on me! I love your middle name choice, it could work with any of your name choices in my opinion.

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
I’m a bigger fan of the other names but I do [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] what you did there

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (no middle name yet… ideas?)
I tend to be saying “love” a lot in this post lol but I love the name [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]! I feel like it’s really underused and as I said above, I feel like [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] goes great together.

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
Not the biggest fan of the name personally, but Wavy is a cute nickname!

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
I feel like it’s a name more associated with the elderly, nothing wrong with that, but maybe [name_f]Collette[/name_f], [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] or [name_f]Concordia[/name_f] would work?

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name)
Why not just stick with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] if you like it so much?

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
“[name_f]Lola[/name_f]”, “[name_f]LoLo[/name_f]” or even “Peanut” but thats more related to the restaurant lol

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I personally think this sounds more like a name for a boy, but a nickname could be “[name_f]Zuzu[/name_f]”, “Zehpy” or “ZZ”

Oh! [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is VERY nice! Thank you!

No problem  you picked out some really great names!

  1. [name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]?
  2. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] I love don’t like [name_f]Ursa[/name_f].
  3. [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is a pretty middle don’t like [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f].
  4. So cute. It’s spunky and sweet.
  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]?
  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is pretty. It doesn’t sound snotty at all. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] would warrant the same nickname though.
  7. I prefer just [name_u]Connie[/name_u]. [name_u]Connie[/name_u] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] would be so cute though.
  8. Second the previous poster. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]?
  9. Both cute. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] , [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or Lo would work.
  10. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a classic middle but I question how practical [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] is.

Overall love [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] and [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]. I’d get rid of [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] , [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] and [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] and leave the rest. Why don’t you wait and see what she looks like when she’s born?

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]- Not a big fan of “made up” names but I don’t get that super made up feel from Mardyn- A nice alternative to [name_m]Martin[/name_m].

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]- Super cute name, cannot come up with a nickname that doesn’t remind me of urin though…

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]- Cute name, would prob prefer [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] though.

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name, such a clever way of honouring both your grandmothers.

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (no middle name yet… ideas?) What about [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] or [name_u]Joan[/name_u]?

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]- Not loving [name_u]Waverly[/name_u], Wavy is cute though.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]- I would use [name_f]Constantina[/name_f] to get to [name_u]Connie[/name_u].

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name) I think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] works well as a standalone name. Other names that could lead to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]; [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Winona[/name_f] or [name_f]Winslet[/name_f].

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]- What about; Logi, [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Ann[/name_f]?
    ([name_u]Nick[/name_u] names?)

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]; What about; Zeph or Zeze?
    ([name_u]Nick[/name_u] names?)

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
I don’t like Mardyn, mostly because it’s made up, and I don’t tend to like -yn endings as they just scream “trendy and yoonique” at me. It sounds nice though. Personally I’d go for something like [name_f]Marta[/name_f], [name_f]Martina[/name_f] “[name_f]Mara[/name_f]”/"[name_f]Mia[/name_f]", [name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Marin[/name_f]/[name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Marilla[/name_f], [name_f]Mattea[/name_f], or even a name with a similar meaning, like [name_f]Maud[/name_f]/[name_f]Maude[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], etc. (which just happen to be Ma- names!). [name_f]Maud[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is really cool!

(BTW if you like Mardyn, how about [name_f]Mabyn[/name_f]? It’s a legitimate name, naturally, me being me . . . it means “boy” which could be funny or off-putting depending on your viewpoint.)

  1. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
You could use [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] with [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] as a nickname. Simple! [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is lovely.

  2. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
I really, really like [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f]! Not crazy about [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] but it certainly works sound-wise. (If you had twins you could name one [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] and one [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and call them [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] and Tuppence!!!)

  3. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
Really not that keen, but that is just my taste . . . [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Joanie[/name_f], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_f]Joni[/name_f]” would [name_f]IMO[/name_f] be better options. [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] is a lovely name that sounds v. similar to [name_f]Elaine[/name_f].

  4. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (no middle name yet… ideas?)
I like [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]! [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] could be another option but I prefer the others.

[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Madison[/name_u]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]*
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Melusine[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]*

  1. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
I know what you mean . . . [name_f]Waverley[/name_f] sounds like the name of an ancestral British estate. Sir [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m] used it for an ancestral home in his eponymous historical novel. NMS but . . . [name_f]Waverley[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u] really works though.

  2. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
I don’t quite get you on this . . . why would a kid dislike it? I think it’s lovely. Beautiful, classic, unusual, and you love both [name_u]Connie[/name_u] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f]. Winner, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] works beautifully too! Really like this.

  3. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name)
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]! [name_f]Winona[/name_f]! [name_f]Winona[/name_f]! AND it means “firstborn daughter” [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] is another option. Also any name ending in -win or -wyn . . .

  4. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
    [name_u]Logan[/name_u]'s all boy for me . . . and I far prefer [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Novalie[/name_f], which is very pretty. Nicknames . . . Low/Lo? [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]? [name_f]Annie[/name_f]? [name_f]Lona[/name_f]?

  5. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Now THIS is really a boys’ name!! Nicknames for a girl, however - hmm . . . Zeph, Zephy, [name_f]Effie[/name_f], Zepha?

All in all, you have some lovely ideas here!

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f].

Seconding this.

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]-Hmm, maybe [name_f]Martine[/name_f] or [name_f]Martina[/name_f] would work better? I’m not a huge fan of Mardyn. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is a lovely, strong mn though. [name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]?

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]-Sorry, not a big fan of of this combo. I like the two names seperately but not together. Maybe [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] could be short for [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]?

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]-Cute, like this one a lot! I love nicknames like [name_m]Tommy[/name_m], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] on girls

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]-I don’t love the names, but it’s a really cute effect and a great way to honour your grandmothers.

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]-I definitely prefer [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] to [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], and [name_f]Indie[/name_f] is a cute nickname! Maybe anchor it with something a bit stronger/normal, [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Erin[/name_f]?

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]-Sorry, I just don’t like [name_f]Waverley[/name_f], and have real trouble seeing it as a name.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]-Gorgeous! [name_f]Constance[/name_f] and [name_u]Connie[/name_u] are both lovely! I don’t think a kid would hate it, here in [name_f]France[/name_f] it’s mega popular, there are 3 Constances in the child I look after’s class at school, and they definitely don’t hate being called [name_f]Constance[/name_f]!

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]-I love both [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], but maybe [name_u]Winter[/name_u] could work as a long name to get to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]-This is a boys name for me. Not a huge fan at all of [name_u]Logan[/name_u] as unisex.

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]-Too weird for me, it slides out of the unusual but cool into the weird territory…

[name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] and [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] are 100% my favourites, though I like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] a lot as well!

[name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] are my favorite. You could also get [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] or [name_u]Winter[/name_u].

Thanks for the feedback so far!

From your suggestions, I’ve:

  • come to feel more confident in [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
  • thought about [name_f]Marin[/name_f]/[name_f]Maren[/name_f] as a tribute to [name_m]Martin[/name_m] (very pretty)
  • thought about [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]… Didn’t notice this before, but [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is, in a way, a combination between [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
  • and [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Winona[/name_f]!!!

Keep em coming, guys!

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
I don’t love the made-up name. Internet says [name_u]Marden[/name_u] is a real surname name. I also like [name_f]Marta[/name_f], and nameberry says [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] comes from the same origin ([name_f]Marcie[/name_f] is cute).

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursa[/name_f] is a little harsh sounding to me. Maybe too close to [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid.

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
    This is cute.

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
I don’t usually like nicknames as names, but this one is pretty cute.

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
A little hippie but I think it can work.

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
    I like this too.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] does seem a little stuffy to me. Not the pretty girly kind of name I would have liked as a kid.

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name)
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is cute and [name_f]Winona[/name_f] is a great suggestion. I’ll also suggest [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
    Too modern for my tastes.

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Also too modern. Sounds very hippie.

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]: Not really a fan. I like the suggestions of [name_f]Marin[/name_f] and [name_f]Martina[/name_f]. Martinella and just [name_u]Marti[/name_u]/[name_f]Martie[/name_f] could work too.

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]: I actually love this. It’s unique, spunky, and adorable. I wouldn’t use any nicknames for [name_f]Ursa[/name_f].

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]: I like [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f] better, but this is cute.

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]: This is actually really cute, too. I like it!

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name and love [name_f]Indy[/name_f]. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] would be divine and [name_f]Constance[/name_f] would really add some mature sophistication to [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]: I don’t like [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] very much, I’m sorry. This is one of the few on your list I really don’t like.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]: I love it. It’s much more adult than most of your other choice, but [name_u]Connie[/name_u] is cute.

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]: I have [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] on my own list. I also like [name_f]Winona[/name_f]. [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] or [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_u]Logan[/name_u] might be pretty.

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]: These two names run together for me, though I like both. What about [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], or [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Ursa[/name_f]? [name_f]Lolo[/name_f] would be a cool nn.

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]: I like it but I have a strange feeling it’s going to feel dated as she ages. [name_f]Zee[/name_f] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] might be a cool nn.

[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] would be a no-brained if you ask me.
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] could be shortened to just ‘[name_f]Zee[/name_f]’.

I don’t care for some of your choices like [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f] but I like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] and [name_f]India[/name_f].

Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is a very solid name. I love the sense of strength that it has. Spelling it [name_u]Marden[/name_u] also works well with the middle name choice, or Maren if you don’t want to go the “surname as a first name” route.

[name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Fae[/name_f] is charming! If you are looking to have nicknames though then this isn’t a good choice. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] is already so short there isn’t much changing it.

I’m really surprised by how much I like [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u], though it doesn’t have the romantic quality some of your other picks possess. Even still, it just has such a nice ring to it, and Tommy as a nickname is beyond darling!

I have a cousin, whose name is [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], and goes by [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] because her first name is honorific. Her nicknames are [name_f]Indie[/name_f] and Gogo.
Originally they were considering naming her [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Sky[/name_u], which I could see being very appealing to others. I saw you were considering [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I love that!

I personally love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]!!! (Sadly my partner doesn’t) before he scratched it from the list, I had been looking at combos like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Nadine[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f], and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f].

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
I’m sorry but I am REALLY not a fan of this. I think making up names is extremely tacky and I also don’t really like how this sounds. What about [name_f]Martina[/name_f], [name_f]Martine[/name_f], [name_f]Martia[/name_f]/[name_f]Marcia[/name_f]/[name_f]Marsha[/name_f], [name_f]Marta[/name_f] or even [name_f]Martha[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Marty[/name_u]? You love nicknames and like [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] on a girl so maybe you’d also like [name_u]Marty[/name_u]. My favourite of this list is by far [name_f]Martha[/name_f]. The others are all variations of [name_m]Martin[/name_m] and have the same meaning, [name_f]Martha[/name_f] is a different name entirely but still totally works to honour a [name_m]Martin[/name_m] in my opinion, especially with the nickname [name_u]Marty[/name_u].

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
I love this but I think you might struggle with coming up with a nickname.

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
My favourite of your list, by far. I would swap out [name_f]Faye[/name_f] for the middle though, since it’s a little more distinctive. I love the nickname [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]. You could also go with [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] and probably still be able to get away with [name_m]Tommy[/name_m].

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
Not a fane. [name_u]Lane[/name_u] is a nice middle name though.

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] (no middle name yet… ideas?)
I think [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are lovely, and [name_f]Indie[/name_f] is very cute. What about [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] or [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]? I think either of these middle names go well with a lot of your names.

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
Although it’s not really my style, I think [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] suits your style well and would be very nice. Wavy is a cute nickname, as well. [name_u]Joan[/name_u] is a little boring in my opinion but seeing as it’s honouring her grandmother could be very nice. You could also go back to the name which [name_u]Joan[/name_u] is a variation of, [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. I think [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] has a nice ring to it, but it doesn’t stick with the pattern of short, single syllable middle names that you seem to have.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
I’m not really a fan but it could definitely work.

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (no middle name)
    I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or even [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] would be lovely nicknames. I think I like [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] a tiny bit more but [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is still lovely. What about [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] or [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]?

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
I know a girl named [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and she carries it fairly well, but I still hate the trend of boys names on girls. I also don’t that [name_u]Logan[/name_u] ends with the same letter as [name_f]Nova[/name_f] begins with. What about [name_f]Nova[/name_f] as a first name? It reminds me of [name_f]Ursa[/name_f], which you also like. [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u], [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] or [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] would work too.

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f] to [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] but [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]'s nice too. Very distinctive. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] in the middle is also a nice nod to [name_u]Joan[/name_u]. I know several [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]'s who go by Stephie so I think Zephie or Zephy could work as a nickname.

I think my favourite choice for you would be [name_f]Martha[/name_f] “[name_u]Marty[/name_u]” [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Marty[/name_u] honours your [name_m]Martin[/name_m], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a nod to both [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] (in the -ane sound).

Of your original list I would choose [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u], though I prefer [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] or [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f].

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] sounds nice

Windolyn(winnie),Indiasa(pronounced in-de-ace-a),nicknames-indi or asa,

  1. Mardyn [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - it’s [name_f]Martina[/name_f]. [name_f]Martina[/name_f] is a beautiful name that should be used more often. [name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] would be very lovely. [name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] would also be pretty.

  2. [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] - seems overdramatic.

  3. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] - I like the way it looks but out loud it sounds too much like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] with a last name. Pick a different middle. [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] would be pretty.

  4. [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] - very sweet and I love the meaning!

  5. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] - this seems a little out there.

  6. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Joan[/name_u] - no, not snobby, but it isn’t a classic.

  7. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] - I think [name_u]Rae[/name_u] sounds insubstantial next to [name_f]Constance[/name_f].

  8. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] - [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a cute standalone. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] would be a lovely name. I also like the idea of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u].

  9. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] - too much “oh” sound, seems trendy.

  10. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] makes [name_f]Jane[/name_f] look really boring. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] makes [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] look odd and masculine. The combo doesn’t seem to work.

I love:
[name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]

I’d also love these names:
[name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
