Hawthorn or Hawthorne

Which do you prefer? With or without the E on the end?

I love both, but maybe the e more.

Personally I prefer it with the E, I think it looks more complete!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling is [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]

I prefer [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]!

Honestly my preference is entirely dependent on the rest of the name. I guess with a E seems more like first name and without seems more like surname but its all kinda arbitrary really.

I think the E makes it more complete and I like E’s

[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]

[name_u]An[/name_u] ‘e’ at the end is always preferred

Same

Everyone seems to prefer with an e. I guess my thinking was that without it, it is more a nature name but with it, everyone is going to think of [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]. I like the literary connection since we have an [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] but people always assume we love To Kill a Mockingbird (which we do, so that’s fine) but then people will assume we are big [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] fans and we aren’t…

Also we are based in the UK which I think lends itself to the plant more since its a symbolic Celtic thing.

But now I’m rethinking!

I have [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m] on my list as a middle. This spelling because it is after my home state’s state flower
