Our last name starts with the word [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].
I have really been liking the name [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] for a boy lately because we have been rewatching that 90s show Coach and that is the main character’s name and its really had me thinking of [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] in a new really masculine light and more proper than [name_u]Hayes[/name_u].
But I think it clashes with our last name. [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]-
Might not work. And I dont like how it rhymes with [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_u]Jaden[/name_u], [name_m]Caden[/name_m], etc
I really like:
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] Irish- okay a little out of there
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Ames[/name_m]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_u]Clarke[/name_u]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Rhett[/name_m]
Thoughts on usability please!
Hayden [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is lovely! [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]- sounds kind of fun to me

I think breaking up the double H’s with a middle name would work really well!
For instance one of the top contenders on my list is [name_m]Heath[/name_m] but last name starts with H so it’d be a very similar situation. We like [name_m]Heath[/name_m] [name_u]Gardiner[/name_u] H—
Out of your options I love [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Ames[/name_m] the most!

I like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_u]Rory[/name_u]! I don’t see the double H as a problem

Let’s use Hazelwood as an example (not my actual last name but close) I guess I just worry that middle names don’t come up too much so he would be known as [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] Hazelwood. Its not so much the double H that bugs me but the double “Hay” sounds. But if people think its still usable I am totally adding it to my list!! I seriously feel obsessed with [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] lately. Although I’m about to give birth to an [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] in just five weeks. It took us so long to agree on a name that I wouldn’t dare suggest a change now but its funny how the pregnancy brain keeps thinking about names!
I don’t think it works well as he will be known as [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] Hazel____ and the two ‘Hay___ Hay__’ sounds back to back are too much IMO. The middle name doesn’t really enter into it on a day-to-day basis as we only use our first and last names. Sorry.
Totally fine. This is why I asked.
Breaking it up with a middle solves the problem for me! Your combos are lovely

I agree the double [name_m]Hays[/name_m] are too much alliteration. Sort of a comic book character vibe.
Love [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] though!

Yeah its funny, its been growing on me as kinda fun alliteration but I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to really use it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] too repetitive in the sounds and sure a middle name breaks it up but we rarely go by our first and middle names. Im sad about it though. [name_m]Just[/name_m] another unusable boy name.
I also love [name_u]Callahan[/name_u] but realized it rhymes with my husband’s name so that was also a no-go.
If I like [name_u]Callahan[/name_u] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] what else might I like?
Elliott [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is the name we are going with.
On my list for his brother I have:
Marshall
[name_m]Tavian[/name_m]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]
Really loved [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] and [name_u]Callahan[/name_u] a lot so I’m bummed. Hoping if there’s a next baby its a girl because boy names are so hard!! What do you picture as [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]’s brother?
I like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] for a boy. To be honest, I really don’t like surnames on girls. Almost never anyway.
Hayden [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]— is a bit much, but not terrible.
I like Hay as a quick shortened version and love [name_m]Den[/name_m] as a cozy nickname.
Hayden Irish is fun. I like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] a lot. I like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_m]Clark[/name_m], but not [name_u]Clarke[/name_u].
Hayden [name_m]Ames[/name_m], not as keen on the flow of that.
And [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] I just do not like at all, sorry. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] or [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] or [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] either.
And I know what you mean about [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_u]Jaden[/name_u], [name_m]Caden[/name_m], but [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] sounds like a surname so I like it better.
I love [name_m]Tilden[/name_m], [name_m]Martin[/name_m], [name_u]Golden[/name_u], and I LOVE your name choices of [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], [name_m]Tavian[/name_m], and [name_u]Lionel[/name_u]. [name_m]Tavian[/name_m] is gorgeous.

Thank you! I do really like [name_m]Tavian[/name_m]!
Im glad to hear some don’t think [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] is unusable with our surname. I also just remembered its a friend’s surname though
Didnt even think about that until now! Its her maiden name though which I cant remember if she changed her name after getting married or not. So it may be out but I was inspired by a 90s show where a man has the name [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]! Definitely feels masculine for me personally! Im with you on the surname on girl trend for the most part!
