Hayes or Grady

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!

I am posting today to find honest opinions on the names [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] and [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] is a family name (I had a great uncle named [name_m]Hazen[/name_m], who went by [name_m]Haze[/name_m]) and I’ve always loved the name [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. What do you think, honestly? Which is your favorite? Any middle name suggestions?

Thanks!
[name_f]Meg[/name_f]

[name_u]Grady[/name_u] is a personal favourite of mine. I fell in love with it when I was looking for a longer form of [name_u]Gray[/name_u] (because I couldn’t use [name_u]Gray[/name_u] with our last name).
I like two syllable names ending in “ee”, its not common/trendy, it has no pronunciation issues or bad associations (that I’m aware of)
I can see the appeal of [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] but it seems incomplete and people mightnt be sure if you’re saying [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] or [name_m]Haze[/name_m]. I like that it’s an honour name for you

I much prefer [name_m]Hayes[/name_m]. I like the sounds and the surnamey feel. [name_u]Grady[/name_u] is okay, nothing wrong with it, it’s just a bit heavy sounding to me - sorry.

[name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
[name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Casper[/name_m]

I like both names but for me, the family significance would tip [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] over the top.

[name_m]Hayes[/name_m] is the name of my town’s local high school, and [name_u]Grady[/name_u] is our local hospital, so to me both of these names seem sort of funny on a child! They are both objectively nice, however, and I like the family tie with [name_m]Hayes[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Grady[/name_u] is less trendy and more substantial, though.

I really want to like [name_u]Grady[/name_u], but it sounds more like a nn. For instance, [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] or [name_m]Greydon[/name_m].

I’ve always loved [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] though! It gets my vote.
