Haytham Atlas - Thoughts?

I’m just lollygagging here, but the name does sound plausible…handsome at best! What are your thoughts?

~[name_f]Dylynn[/name_f]

Haytham just sounds off to me. It reminds me of the words “mayhem” and “haywire” written down, and then sounds like “hate them” when I say it out loud. I’m not a fan. [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is very handsome though! Maybe Hayes Atlas?

I like it very much, perhaps Hay as nn?

[name_m]Hagen[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] or
[name_m]Haden[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]

Sounds much better to me. ”

Not a fan. Doesn’t really sound like a name, and I think the kid would have a lot of future issues with being asked to spell it, being called the wrong name, being teased, etc.

Haytham is pronounced as HAY-THUM, not HAYT-[name_m]HAM[/name_m] or HAYT-THEM.

I really like it! A lovely combo that I can see on a young boy and also ages well. I’m honestly surprised by some of the negative responses because this is a delightful name.

While I like [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], I really don’t see Haythum working as a first name, sorry.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_m]Haywood[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Hayward[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]

Yeah, that’s how I said it. Still sounds like “hate them” out loud.

Sorry to be blunt but that name sounds like you are trying [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too hard and come across as completely pretentious to me. I wouldn’t want to purposefully inflict that on my son unless it was a ancestor you were honoring or a family name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] then I would relegate to middle name status.

If you think Haytham [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is pretentious I shudder to think how you feel about my son’s name.

There’s blunt and then there’s plain rude.

[i][[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] Haytham sounds better to me./I]

Aww, sorry about the negative comments. I like Haytham (my sig, ha) and I think it feels quite dapper with [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. However fact that they are both 2 syllables, makes it a little choppy. I see you have [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as a middle in your sig. I think Haytham [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is fantastic. As long as the name isn’t offensive if you love the name I say go for it, at the end of the day it’s your kid’s name and you should love it.

If you’re asking, seems like you’re not quite sure. What do you like about this combo and what makes you nervous?

I like it because I can squeeze a greek name in there (DH is Greek and I’m trying to balance things out.) Unsure of it because both are uncommon and ‘ungrounded’ names and that can usually make people squirm.

I like Haythem, but I prefer the combo in your sig to Haytham [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], mainly because I love all three names! I also really like Haytham! I don’t think it’s pretentious at all, and if [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is the issue that’s trending if anything. I like the sound (I say High-thum), quite like the meaning, and it has cultural/familial ties for me. I think it’s a great, unusual, but usable choice.

If the less common/familiar aspect of both names it’s what’s giving you pause, then I would say go with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] for the middle. Both combos are great but that one should give you a more balanced feel.
