Hazel Anabel

So I posted a few weeks ago about the names [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and asked which one you all liked the most. Although I still love the two very much, after discussing things over with my hubby we have come up with a completely new name combo that represents both sides of our family. The name we want to use is [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] was his grandmother’s middle name on his dad’s side and my mom’s name is [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]. I used to really like the name [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] a few years back but kind of forgot about it. I like that is it not very common (at least not in my area) yet recognizable and classic. I like the idea of Hazey or Hazelnut as a nickname  I would love to hear your opinions on the name [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] in general and what you think of the middle [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]. Does it flow well? What nicknames so you think work with [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]? Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

I personally love [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] as a sibset but I don’t love them together in one name. I think [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] needs a stronger consonant sound after, But I definitely don’t think it sounds bad as is

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] was on my list too!

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

I like [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! and [name_u]Anne[/name_u] means [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] sounds adorable, but I’m not sure about the combination in that order- perhaps [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]? I think it’s cute either way, and middle names don’t tend to be used to often in day-to-day life, so it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] is sweet! It’s meaningful and pretty and while the flow isn’t perfect, I think the meaning is more important

I love it!!

I love Hazel Anabel! That is a gorgeous name!

As a Hazel, Hazey is one of my own favorite nicknames! Loads of people call me that, and I love it. I also love my nickname Basil. Gotta love a good rhyme. Speaking from experience, your baby girl will get lots of "my mom has a friend named Hazel!"s from middle-aged ladies, but also so many compliments on her name! Love this choice!
