[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]- Isn’t my favorite, but it’s okay. I think because its old fashioned and modern (at least in my brain), I’m not sure about it.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- It’s too common for me, but I like an alternate spelling: [name_f]Alivia[/name_f]. It makes it feel different then [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]- I really like this name and used to know a wonderful young lady with this name.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]- This one is too old fashioned for me.
I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] would be a lovely combo.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is my favorite. I also like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] a lot. Both are vintage classic and pretty.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is another vintage but has a spunkier vibe. I like it but wouldn’t use it myself. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is a beautiful name but I would never use it because it is extremely popular. I teach high school and you can never just say [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] without “[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] who?”
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]: While this name lacks the elegance of some of your other favorites, I still like it quite a lot. I love how it has vintage roots but a dynamic, modern sound, and the brash-yet-composed vibe.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]: Strong, classic, rhythmic, and popular for a reason. However, its ubiquity has dulled its luster quite a bit for me.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]: To me, this is one of the most perfect names out there: A timeless sound, meaning and gravity, and elegance galore.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]: Yet another beautiful name! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is tailored and elegant, and at once mischievous and buttoned-up.
Ranked:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is one of my absolute favourite names!!! It’s so beautiful!! I love the English pronounciation of it! (we would have used it but it would have probably been like “a-leece”)
And one of the best things about it is it’s so well known but very few children are named it (at least in my experience)
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is also very pretty, it reminds me of a fresh dewy morning in spring.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are not names I love however I do think they are perfectly lovely names for wonderful kids!!
I love them all except [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]! Nothing wrong with [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], just I’ve met so.many it’s lost its spark for me.
I love the warm feel of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], the strong yet delicate sounds of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and the classic, sturdy but gentle [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
The only one that I find decent is Alice.
Olivia is horrendously over popular and every single one that I have met personally has been overly conceited and snobbish. Even the ones I haven’t met and just see in the media- e.j. Olivia Jade- the spoiled brat who had her mother pay her way into university because didn’t care enough to go to high school most days- only worrying about selfies and vacations. That’s the type of person I see when I think of the name Olivia, just someone generally very… ditsy.
Lydia sounds like a middle aged mother who dyes her hair blonde but persists it’s her “real color!”.
Hazel is… okay. I’m not getting that much from Hazel. I picture a bookworm with mousy brown hair, warm brown eyes the color of honey and a beautiful smile. You know what? I change my mind, I actually quite like Hazel.
Alice is beautiful, a timeless classic yet not boring and has a touch of spunk. Double points for being a literary name (Alice & Wonderland).
Rankings best to worst with comments:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - There is just something so charming and feminine about this name. It feels magical to me, like there has to be something special about a woman named [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - Short, sweet and approachable. Romantic and classic without being dated. It’s on my top lists too!
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - I like that you don’t meet many people with this name. It seems very 1920’s B.A. to me but has a soft sound.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - This is probably the only one I don’t care for. It seems a bit dated even though it has become popular again.
I love [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] & [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]!
The only one I don’t like is [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. It has a beautiful sound but I’ve met so many that it was dull for me before I could appreciate its nice features.
My favorite is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I love how sweet but also spunky [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] are both okay, nms but pretty names.
I love these names together, they all fit very well with each other
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - strong yet soft, very vintage, I love it
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - perhaps my least favourite of these four but it doesn’t mean I don’t like it, very beautiful and has many nn possibilities
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - my favourite of these four, timeless and elegant
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - to me it’s a name with a lot of warmth and gentleness with a speck of spunkiness, a wonderful choice
