If you had to choose one of the other…? We like both of these names. I have gotten the feeling that some people feel Mabel is too old or stodgy, while others think Hazel is too popular/trendy. I can’t decide how I feel because I like older names and don’t mind a little popularity.
I’d choose [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]. I like the nature aspects & the zippy Z sound.

I also like the zippy Z of [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], but after a good hard think I chose [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] because I think it’s that little bit more unexpected at the moment. To me it’s a lovely singsong, cottagecore gem.

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] because… I’m biased, and it’s my name! I also love the Z and the uniqueness of this name’s sounds. She’s nature and old-fashioned, which is a harmonious and sweet blend.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] has also been a favorite of mine forever. There’s no bad choice!!
I picked [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] because in my eyes, she can suit any age, any personality and is just really lovely! I also love how she’s vintage without sounding ‘dusty’ and is also growing in popularity today. However, it was a super tough decision because [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is adorable! I absolutely do not think she’s old or stodgy; it’s the complete opposite! Cute, fun and wonderfully vintage!
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f], just feels more classic to me.
Although I love the hippie sound that [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] has.
I chose [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] because she is just so sweet!
I would be absolutely thrilled to meet a baby [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and don’t find it too old at all!
I do love feisty [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] as well. You really can’t go wrong.
I love both too but I voted [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] as it is a family name.
Definitely [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
I’m not keen on [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], it’s a name kids were called in the 80’s where I lived
But I’ve loving the pie chart graph!
This is difficult because either would be an excellent choice, but I think [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] just has it - I do love a name with a nature connection, and the ‘z’ is a softer sound than a ‘b’. Also, where I am (England) [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is much more common than Hazel; I’d be far more (pleasantly) surprised to meet a baby [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] - although if you’re in the States or elsewhere I suppose that doesn’t matter.
A few years ago I would have said [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] I love the nature vibes. But after having taught/met several little Hazels it has lost some of its charms (not that it is in any way a bad choice though!)
So I would go with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. Which seems to me sweetly vintage.
I love the sweetness of Mabel; [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] I just don’t love the look of personally.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
I love the cosy, autumnal feel behind [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] she feels just so warm and comforting a truly gorgeous name that has lovely nature connotations and sounds bright.
Also [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is more common than [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] so for me [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] feels a little fresher!
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u]. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is [name_f]Maple[/name_f] syrup so no
This is hard for me as I’ve always felt like they have the exact same vibes!! If I had to pick, I think I’d go with [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], but just by the tiniest amount.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] for me. It feels warm and cosy, like a hug in a name, but at the same time, plenty of spark and sass. I love the meaning to and the nickname options of [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Bel[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u]
Ooh, such a tough choice! I think I’d go with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] because of the meaning. I adore [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] as well though – you really can’t go wrong!
I like the [name_u]Haze[/name_u] of [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] but the [name_f]Bel[/name_f] of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] better than the [name_m]Zel[/name_m] sound.
To me, [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] does have the fun, spunky edge while [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is more cottagecore cute. Both gems.
Both are so sweet! I think for me it would all come down to if I wanted something that felt in right now or something that felt a little more uncommon!
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] because of the nature connection and i prefer the sound
