HCG 4.56 Progesterone 19- Positive Stories?

We have been TTC for 7 months now. I had two consecutive chemical pregnancies in [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u], took a break in [name_u]July[/name_u] and did NTNP resulting in a negative in [name_u]August[/name_u].

Well, today I got a positive! Very faint positive on a first response, but it was there! Positive clear blue digital OPK on 9/11, so I think I’m 12ish DPO, though I don’t chart or temp so I don’t know for certain. I’ve been testing the past few days with nothing looking very promising. Test yesterday was stark white, so I know my test today caught it early.

I went in for betas and got 4.56 HCG, which is soooo low. But progesterone was 19.5. So my dr wasn’t even concerned. [name_m]Just[/name_m] said it was really early and wanted me to come back in a week. Not even in two days like she had me is with both chemicals!

I guess I’m just looking for some positive stories and some hope that this could result in a happy and healthy 9 months!

I had a blood test after a positive HPT and my HCG was 6. That was at 13DPO. I’m sorry to say, I had a miscarriage (chemical). If you had a positive HPT and then a blood reading of 4.56, I think it’s likely that what happened to me will probably happen to you because your HCG was probably slightly higher when you took the home test and dropped down a bit for the blood test (because 4.56 really isn’t high enough to register on an HPT even a FRER).

I’m really sorry because I know you’re looking for happy stories! The good news is I’m just some girl on the internet and I could easily be wrong! I’d have another blood test in a couple of days and then see what’s happening. Good luck.

I don’t have any experience since we’re still trying but I truly hope this is it for you and I’m sending lots of sticky baby vibes your way! A week is a really long time to wait. Is there any way you could maybe work around your doctor and just schedule an appointment in a few days? I’m rooting for you! Good luck!!

Fingers crossed for you @babylove!!!

I’m really staying positive here and am glad to have others helping me along! My test got darker today- much much darker! It never got this dark with my other chemical pregnancies, so hoping for good news to come  Testing every morning and hoping to get a darker and darker line! I even got a faint positive on a dolt tree test today. Yay!

I’m a wanderer on these forums because I love reading peoples TTC etc stories, so I just wanted to bombard in and wish you the best of luck!

Yay babylove, that sounds really promising!!! I have everything crossed that this is it for you this time

Darker tests are definitely a good sign! My tests didn’t get darker with my chemicals either.

Still getting darker today! And now showing up on the dollar store tests which aren’t as sensitive. With my chemicals the line never got much darker at all, and even at its darkest my husband could still barely see it. These are definitely blazing! Hoping and praying!!

Sending happy thoughts your way for baby #2!!!

Good luck babylove!!! Crossing all my fingers and toes for a sticky baby!!!

Good luck!!!

Thank you everyone!! I talked to a really rude nurse today. I’ve had really bad experiences with all the nurses and even my awesome OB lately. The one I talked to last week was nice but didn’t even know what HCG was. When I asked to speak to a nurse she said she WAS the nurse but her background was in pulmonology. Well that’s helpful. The one I talked to today basically said that my OB guessed that my next betas would be negative. I asked if I could get my iron checked because I’ve been dizzy and she said they’d check but since everything was going to be negative, I’d have to see my primary care dr. I told her my tests have been getting substantially darker every day and she just mumbled something about how we will just have to see. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it was a third chemical, shouldn’t they be referring me to a specialist, not backwards to my primary care? Basically it just really hit a nerve for me.

But I’m staying optimistic! They said I could go in tomorrow instead of Thursday so that’s good at least. Going first thing in the morning and should have my results by the afternoon!

But my test line is almost darker than the control line now and I came super close to throwing up this evening so I’m hoping for awesome betas tomorrow!!

If you’re showing a strong positive on a home test, your numbers should be fairly good!

As far as not sending you to a specialist after a third chemical pregnancy it would depend on the office policy and more likely, how close together they were and if you’d been TTC for a long time in between. I don’t think my doctor would get a fertility specialist’s opinion until 1+ year of TTC, or three miscarriages in a row (not sure if they’d count chemical pregnancies). I think that’s fairly standard. It can also depend on your age. They’ll send a 36 year old to a specialist a lot faster than a 25 year old with the same experience.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] following up on leadmythoughts ^

Doctors don’t count chemical pregnancies as miscarriages. Since they are extremely common there isn’t usually a root cause beyond an anomaly with the egg/sperm or just bad luck.

Thanks everyone!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] had my follow up draw and my HCG is at a 360! Which means it’s more than doubling every day! So that was awesome news! Can’t wait for the first ultrasound, that will really put my mind at ease!!

[name_f]Happy[/name_f] news! I hope it continues to go well

Thanks!! I heard back, not from my dr, but from an ACTUAL dr! Lol! In the middle of the day! It was fabulous! It was actually the dr that delivered my son. I’m thinking of switching over to him. He’s having me go back in on Friday to redraw
