So my fiance just realized that he dosen´t like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] anymore, because of the fact that we aren´t going to call her [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], so he wants to loose [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Problem is, Im not happy with [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], so it is back to the drawingboard, and your help would be very much appreciated
Sibling names we are pretty set on; [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_m]Brantley[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m]. (if you have any suggestions, comments or ideas for these you are more than welcome to do so :))
Thank you for the reply lee 1981, but just to be clear we are still going to call her [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], just trying to find a second middle that works I really like your suggestions though
If you are going to call her [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] anyway (lovely), what about [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]? [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]? I prefer [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] myself b/c I have taught far too many girls named [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Plus I think that since [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are serious names, [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] sounds better with them than the shorter [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
The problem (and the reason it doesn’t flow very well like your other names do) is that you have the longer name, [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], in the first name slot and the short one-syllable name in the middle name slot. Nothing really sounds right with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] leading the middle name combo unless it’s a long name. [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], but in those cases, it’s a lot of name!
If you named her [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], then it would work. Or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. But since you want to call her [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], I agree with your husband and I would put [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] first. I would lose [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or put something something in front of [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Think of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] like the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or the [name_f]Jane[/name_f] that you used as the second middle for your other children. It should be on the end.
You COULD just drop [name_f]Lily[/name_f] alotgether and just give her one middle. I mean if you are planning to call her [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] anyway, why are you bothering with another middle? Especially if its not an honour name or a name that is special to you. I don’t get it.
^^I was wondering the same thing. Why so stuck on the double middle? When you said your fiance wanted to lose [name_f]Lily[/name_f], my first thought was “Oh, that’s perfect, then. [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is lovely.” (and then I was confused why there was still supposedly a problem with the name.) It really is beautiful, but it’s the cadence and the simplicity and the, well, gracefulness that make it so pleasing. Adding another name to it is likely to take those qualities away, I think.
The reason for the double middles is because my fiance has double middles, which I really love, and I just think it sounds better with the very short last name (think [name_u]Kyle[/name_u])
Thank you for all the replies
Wait, why isn’t [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] an option? I think it flows really well, and sounds fantastic. By the way, are you pronouncing [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] -lee or -lye?
Somehow I had not thought of that larkub101, will have to see if he agrees, but it does sound and look pretty He and I will pronounce it -lye, while my family will call her -lee, since they are Scandinavian
Thank you everyone for the replies After many hours of discussion we have decided on [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] Thoughts?
I prefer the -lee pronunciation, but that’s just me. I used to live in South [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] and hated it, so the -lye is ruined for me.
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is lovely, I personally just liked [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] by itself. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is quite long and I can’t imagine trying to fit [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] “[name_u]Kyle[/name_u]” on a drivers license or passport. But I have soft spot for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], as it’s been used a lot in my family.
He dosen´t like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f],Eloide, and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but I do. A very close friend is using [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], which we both love, so we won´t use it. The talk was either about [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is going to be used for a fourth daughter, if she comes around. Thank you for all the beautiful names
