He didn't say no!

DH must have had a baby name stroke or something. [name]Ever[/name] since we were picking out names for our son (who is now 2) we have had an impossible time agreeing on a girl name. Now that we are gearing up to try for #2 I’ve started on names again and I was sure he’d veto all of my favorite “southern belle” names like he did last time. He likes shorter, common names ("[name]Eva[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Ella[/name]") whereas I love the frilly, feminine names paired with deep-rooted family middle names that make me think of a hoop skirts and garden parties and our deep south homes.

He was actually willing to consider:

[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] V_____
[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Hart[/name] V_____
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] V_____
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]August[/name] V_____
[name]Arabella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] V______
[name]Jane[/name] [name]August[/name] V_____

[name]Do[/name] any of these stand out to you? All of the middle names are family names, but feel free to switch them around if you’re feeling creative.

I love [name]Annabelle[/name]!

[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] jumps out at me! It’s beautiful. I also love the idea of [name]Augusta[/name] ([name]Jane[/name] [name]Augusta[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Augusta[/name]) for a girl in place of [name]August[/name].

[name]Love[/name] all of them minus [name]August[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name] is gorgeous.

rollo

I really like [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]August[/name]! [name]Elizabeth[/name] flows very nicely with every middle name you have listed. I think that’s what makes it a charm. It’s quite popular, but it’s definitely a classic.

I love the suggestion of [name]Augusta[/name].

[name]Jane[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] would be lovely

[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Hart[/name] is also amazing! I think that’s my favorite.

[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]August[/name] is also very pretty. I honestly much prefer [name]August[/name] on a girl.

[name]Arabella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is great too

I’m not a big fan of [name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name].

You have some great options here-- I like the mns you have from your family as well as your fns. [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Georgina[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] are a little less common, so I give them a slight edge. I also really like the suggestion of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name].

I had considered [name]Augusta[/name], but something about it just doesn’t sit well with me. I think it feels too close to the [name]German[/name] [name]Augustus[/name] that we are honoring and I just keep hearing “Save some for later [name]Augustus[/name]!” from [name]Willie[/name] Wonka. [name]August[/name] just seems more streamline and since its a family name I don’t mind it being traditionally masculine.

[name]Victoria[/name] is probably the one I’m most unsure about as well. I love the suggestion of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]! [name]Montgomery[/name] was my great-grandmother’s maiden name and I’d love to pass that along to a future daughter because she was an amazing woman.

[name]Arabella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is my favorite. I don’t think [name]Arabella[/name] gets enough credit for being a beautiful name with lots of history all on its own. It also sounds wonderful with [name]Catherine[/name] in the middle.

We have a [name]Jane[/name] ourselves and love the name!
Your other choices are nice tooo- my fave would be [name]Georgina[/name].

I really love the above suggestion of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name].

My favorites from your list are [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Arabella[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name].

[name]Georgina[/name] is what really stands out to me. I can picture her as a southern belle. [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]…divine!

I like [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], although you didn’t list that combination. I just happen to truly adore [name]Annabelle[/name] and only like [name]Arabella[/name] a little, but since I’m a [name]Catherine[/name], I can’t help but root for it as a middle.

[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] is striking and undeniably Southern. I love the suggestion of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] just as much. [name]Both[/name] names fit the image you want perfectly.

[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] is gorgeous!

I love [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] /[name]Elizabeth[/name]. Actually considering [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] myself!

1 [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - [name]Georgie[/name] [name]Kate[/name] would be a cute nn
2 [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] - very Southern
3 [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - pretty

I love [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]August[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] [name]August[/name]! [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] jumped out at me too, but I definitely prefer [name]Georgia[/name]. [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] sounds lovely!

I’m glad he didn’t say no!
My thoughts…
[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] - I adore the name [name]Annabelle[/name] very light, frilly and airy. I dislike this spelling though I prefer [name]Annabel[/name]. However [name]Montgomery[/name] isn’t my thing, making me not really fall in love with this combination.

[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - I love the name [name]Victoria[/name] - it’s my name - she’s a classic, elegant and beautiful. [name]Victoria[/name] is so refreshing on young children and babies. I also adore [name]Victoria[/name] with [name]Hart[/name] just sounds so ‘southern belle’ and cool.

[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - I dislike the name [name]Georgina[/name] I’ve never liked [name]George[/name] and his variants like [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Georgina[/name]. They just don’t do anything for me. I find [name]George[/name] and his variants unattractive. I do love [name]Catherine[/name].

Suggestion [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]?

[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]August[/name] - [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a stunning, period classic. [name]Elizabeth[/name] has so many beautiful nicknames like [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Lizzie[/name] etc. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a great choice I love it! I think [name]August[/name] sounds stunning with [name]Elizabeth[/name] the whole combination is great. Which is surprising as I love [name]August[/name] as a boys name more than a girl’s name.

[name]Arabella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - [name]Arabella[/name] is stunning, very princess like and adorable. [name]Arabella[/name] sounds so elegant and soulful. I adore the name. I also love [name]Arabella[/name] with [name]Catherine[/name] which just adds to the gorgeous quality of the name making it so [name]Princess[/name] like and beautiful. The combination is so frilly and perfect.

[name]Jane[/name] [name]August[/name] - I adore the name [name]Jane[/name]. She’s so beautiful and understated. The name [name]Jane[/name] is incredibly refreshing and she’s my favourite girl’s name at the moment. [name]Jane[/name] is just brilliant. I also love [name]August[/name] in the middle name slot. But in a way would love to change things up and have [name]Jane[/name] [name]Augusta[/name].

[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
